Try a marinated steak sandwich. Marinate thin-sliced sirloin steak in soy sauce, chopped garlic, onion soup mix and meat tenderizer. Sautee with peppers and onions and mushrooms, top with cheese of choice( swiss, mozzarella, cheddar, american) on toasted hoagie roll. Wonderful :)

One of the best sandwiches I had was a "Chicken parm" in Pittsburgh. The chicken was dipped in egg, then breaded with a mixture of parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs, seasoned with Italian seasoning and garlic powder. They topped it with homemade marinara sauce(it was a little chunky, but not huge chunks) and melted mozzarella and shredded parmesan cheese on top. It was SOOO good! I've had several chicken parmesan subs, but none could compare to this one!

Pulled pork sandwiches are also good. You can cook a pork roast in the oven or in the crock pot. Cook with an onion cut into wedges, add a boullion cube or two, garlic powder, parsley and a bit of rosemary. Cook til done, allow to cool then add back to the crockpot or saucepan. Add bottled barbecue sauce, along with chopped garlic, brown sugar, worchestire sauce and a bit of crushed pineapple or pineapple rum or make your own from scratch. Serve on a hamburger bun with coleslaw optional.

You can make an easy grilled chicken sandwich by marinating, or just cooking the chicken in italian salad dressing. Sautee with onions and peppers and top with a blend of mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Serve on a split steamed hoagie roll.

Make a buffalo chicken sandwich. Dip a thin-cut chicken breast into egg, then flour, then Frank's red hot sauce, back into the egg, then flour again. Deep fry the chicken, then drain the oil off the chicken breast and toss in the Frank's red hot sauce again. Top with swiss cheese and crumbled bleu cheese, serve on top of a buttered, toasted roll.

Turkey with dressing and gravy but no commie style pita bread for me. That's for tuna or veggie sandwiches. Fresh turkey off the bone only! How about experimenting with some egg salad recipes? Serve with bacon lettuce and tomato like a club. Three cheese grilled cheese with roasted peppers. Ham, cheese and roasted pepper pannini. Try capers with the last two. Have good baked ham as an option and not just the cold cut ham. Gourmet Peanut Butter and Jelly. Top notch ingredients. Roast pork au jus! Meatloaf! These are some of my faves! I should open a sandwich shop!

Original Cuban Sandwich
1 loaf Cuban bread
1-ounce regular mustard
4 dill pickles
5 slices boiled ham or Virginia ham
2 slices roast pork
1 slice imported Swiss cheese
1-ounce butter

Cut Cuban bread to desired size, common size is 7 inches. Next, slice open the bread down the middle. On the topside of the bread spread 1-ounce of mustard, evenly across. Then place 4 pickles on top of the mustard. You then place 1 slice of Swiss cheese on top of the pickles. Slice ham to desired thickness, recommended size is 1 1/2 ounces per slice, the thinner the better. Now fold each slice of ham in half and place evenly on bottom of bread. On top of the ham, place slices of roast pork, 1 1/2 ounces per slice. You then join both halves of the sandwich. You are now ready to grill your Cuban sandwich.
Use a sandwich grill if you have one, a waffle iron if not. Spread butter on top of the bread evenly. Close the grill, smashing the sandwich. Leave sandwich in the grill until top of bread turns to a golden brown, and top is crisp. Approximate time is 4 to 6 minutes. After the sandwich is crispy and the cheese has melted, remove the sandwich carefully and slice it diagonally, from corner to corner. DO NOT USE A MICROWAVE OVEN!

I ate my first Cuban sandwich in Key West a few months ago and it was the best sandwich I've ever had.

My favorite: Pastrami and swiss cheese, heated on a poppy seed bagel.

Something we used to make at a sandwich shop I once worked at: Any sliced deli meat with Havarti dill cheese, lettuce and tomato, on a croissant... heat the meat and cheese so that they melt together.

Avocado, sprouts, and tomato on whole wheat bread is also a delightful veggie sandwich.

Well, I'll tell you my favorite sandwich that I have only found on Carnival Cruise Lines....

Roast Beef, Brie cheese, lettuce and tomato with a little kosher salt, fresh ground pepper on a baguette.... My mouth waters for one of these so often and I can't find any place that makes it. It is truly delicious. I had it once with a couple of pieces of thinly sliced red onion on it...WOW!

Lots of people like GOOD patty melts if the bread is good rye and grilled without a ton of butter on it. Also, my girlfriend and I made some excellent sandwiches last week using a portabella mushroom that we put in aluminum foil, topped with some butter and sprinkled liberally with garlic salt. they were awesome.

Use different type of breads and fillings to mix & match. Try using breads containing ingredients such walnut, pumpkin, dates, carrot, etc to add variety for the customers or fillings made using different styles from other countries such as teriyaki sauce, tom yam sauce, curries, etc.

On a ciabatta roll, spread some pesto. Add sliced ham, some provolone, sliced red onion and watercress or arugula.

This is my favorite sandwich.
