There is a direct connection with this man's wealth and illegal immigration. Telmex is a monopoly and the Mexican people pay far more for telecom than in America. The Mexican economy is corrupt. This guy supports the government and in return they protect his monopoly. Just like Pemex-the oil company. A few make billions while the vast majority suffer in poverty. And this is why Mexicans flee their own country. In fact 70% say they plan to leave and go north!
America has anti-trust laws-laws against monopolies. Our government almost broke up Microsoft. AT&T was broken up
in 1984. This concept is even applied the the recent Sirius satellite radio and XM merger. These two companies may not be allowed to combine.
The real question is why Mexicans put up with this kind of abuse. Their government points them north and then asks them to remain loyal and send money home. Money sent home to Mexico is now only second to oil as a source of national revenue. So Carlos Slim's wealth is nothing a Mexican should be proud of.

Just another perplexing reason that begs the question: Why, then, is the education and medical expense of their rapidly growing population MY problem as a person trying to contribute to my own country.
Mexico has a trillion dollar a year GDP and over 2 trillion dollars in known petroleum reserves, along with priceless coastal land, ports, precious metals and more. And, they're right next to what has been the strongest economy in the world for 6 decades.
Why wouldn't they be rich? Why aren't more of them rich?
Because they don't see the value in holding off and waiting to have a family...and in having really small families. Japan's population has declined in recent years.
Mexico's doubles about every 25 years; Honduras' doubles about every 18 to 20 years. Infrastructure and schools can't possibly keep up. So? So, they remain poor.

I've always know Mexico was a rich country. A journalist once said Mexico is one of the few countries in the world to be a 3rd world and 1st world country at the same time. I wish the extreme poverty in Mexico would end soon though.....I hate seeing all those poor people in Mexico. Actually, I'd like to see poverty end in the whole world.

properly initially, this has already been tried at one factor, i imagine its said as the crusades, diverse faith yet nevertheless an identical idea applies. inspite of if this replaced into to go back real, lets play upload up the info...( I truly do not understand at the same time as those info the position made ) Christianity: 2.a million billion Islam: a million.5 billion Secular/Nonreligious/Agnostic/Atheist: a million.a million billion Hinduism: 900 million chinese classic faith: 394 million Buddhism: 376 million primal-indigenous: three hundred million African classic & Diasporic: 100 million Sikhism: 23 million Juche: 19 million Spiritism: 15 million Judaism: 14 million Baha'i: 7 million Jainism: 4.2 million Shinto: 4 million Cao Dai: 4 million Zoroastrianism: 2.6 million Tenrikyo: 2 million Neo-Paganism: a million million Unitarian-Universalism: 800 thousand Rastafarianism: 600 thousand Scientology: 500 thousand now the following we see that Islam is the 2d best faith, now to make certain that the islamic human beings to face up and triumph over the global , effectively putting out global warfare 3, they're going to all want to be educated like the Israeli militia, the in elementary words us of a that ought to degree their wars in days, then you definitely want to over come the insurgency problem ,.... plus when we come to the massive superpower countries, like the U. S. , China, India, Pakistan, they're going to coach very complicated to take over with out large casualties. So contained in the proper, If this replaced into to ensue. you would want someone charismatic and a functional strategist like each and each of the whole leaders mixed. So it really is not possible. no longer non secular contained in the least, im tolerant of others religions and each little thing as long as its no longer pushed on me. that's all from a historic attitude.

What makes the United States so great is not the number of millionaires or billionaires it has, but how many people who are members of the middle-class here as well.
Prosperity must have a healthy distribution and that is what is sorely missing in Mexico.
In Mexico, you have the very wealthy and the very poor and very little in between.
Mexico is a third-world country that doesn't have anywhere near the number of hospitals and clinics that it should have.
Mexico doesn't have anywhere near the number of doctors, nurses, and health-care workers that it should have.
Mexico doesn't have anywhere near the number of schools and universities that it should have for its population.
Mexico doesn't have anywhere near the number of sewage treatment plants that it should have.
Mexico doesn't have anywhere near the quality of infrastructure that it should have in order to deliver the same standard of living that the citizens of the U.S., Canada, Spain, and many other countries enjoy.
Why is this so?
Because Mexico is missing a sufficiently large and robust middle-class of skilled professionals.
Mexico is a country in third or fourth place with the most number of billionaires, but that is like having a blob of icing on top of a big cake that is still bare everywhere else.
That icing needs to be spread around to cover the entire cake!
Then you will have a real cake! ---- And then Mexico will be a real country!

Yes, I knew this because I was bombarded with the article by someone who is Mexi; However, like I told him, what does it matter with the current situation where illegals from South America and Mexico continue to flood the USA? It doesn't, but well done on his part for being a billionaire.

Yes and he doesn't believe in charity. Isn't that great? Perhaps the new richest man in the world will be a snobby, selfish Mexican. Heck and they say we don't do enough for the world but look what happens when you are charitable.... Mexicans get more money than you.

He's not a mexican. His family settled in Mexico from Lebanon.
He's so rich because he charges such high rates for telephone services to the mexican public. This is part of what keeps mexican citizens so poor. How would you like it if Bill Gates tripled what they charge for internet access, became by far richer than all of them put together, then someone in another country who can still afford the internet, praises Bill Gates for being such a good american capitalist?
Thats exactly what you are doing.
You should familiarize yourself with this new information, and rephrase your question.
