My sister gave each of her bridesmaids a set of jewellry (it was costume jewellry so it was very inexpensive) that went with their bridesmaids dresses. She also gave them all ballet-looking slippers to wear at the reception when their feet get sore from their heels. It was awesome!
I'm going to give each of my bridesmaids and flower girls a piece of real jewellry that will go with their dresses. Bridesmaids will probably get crystal or cubic zirconia earrings, maid of honour a CZ pendant/necklace, and flower girls some sort of small locket.

Try to specialize towards something you know they will be keeping forever. Whether it be an engraved piece of jewerly for the bridesmaid and get something extra special for the maid of honor or engraved flasks for the men. You could even go with getting them ipods that are engravable. It all depends with how much you want to spend and the type of people they are. These gifts should also be given at the rehearsal dinner or if you decide to have a bridesmaid luncheon , then there. Good Luck.

Bridesmaids: Jeweled shoe clips to wear at the wedding and to future special occasions. A handbag to match their wedding attire. A charm bracelet with a starter charm, or special earrings to wear that day.
Groomsmen: Leather shaving kit for traveling. Tickets to a favorite sporting event. Watch, if you can afford to.
Gender neutral: Monogrammed terry robes.

Give your bridesmaid something that you know they will like, most girls enjoy pampering so why not give them a voucher for a treatment at a nice beauty salon, or one so they can get their hair done.

Women love jewelry. Not cheap stuff. Something tasteful that they will wear at their weddings or other occasions. Men are funny. They are easy to please. They are not much on jewelry. Men are likely to choose something more practical.
