Ever seen the movie "Animal House?"
My advice to you is to start drinking heavily....
Actually get a good nights sleep, eat a steak as a last meal.
When you get to boot just do what your told and you will be fine. 13 weeks isnt really that long when you think about how much your going to gain as a person from this experience.
Remember that your drill instructors only want to make you a good Marine, that is the sole purpose that they do the things that they do.
Bootcamp isnt really anything to be scared of honestly.

Step up and volunteer for a leadership position in the division, it will make your boot camp time more rewarding and save your butt when need be if you don't mess things up. Yes, keep your mouth sealed. Pay attention to everything going on around you and sleep on the plane it will be the last real sleep you get for a couple of weeks. Boot camp is about making a team out of a bunch of individuals, the quicker you can get that done the better it will be for all of you. People never listen though so you will all be beaten until you learn. Don't worry, they don't touch you, but they will make you do jumping jacks or whatever until everyone is on the same page. Just do exactly what you are told and you will be fine. It is way more mental than physical, keep that in mind and stay sane and you will do well. Have fun!

It is going to be the hardest 3 months of your life.On graduation day you will be so proud you wont believe it.
You can go about it two ways 1st Be gung ho be first for everything make yourself known to the drill instructors, volunteer for everything this may help you to be a squad leader, or guide this is a good thing but you have to be willing to take alot of grief from the D.I.'s 2nd If you blend in stay out of trouble you wont be a guide,or squad leader but your time will be slightly easier.
No matter what, it will be something that you will never be able to explain to anyone.Only another Marine will know what you are talking about. You will truly understand the few the proud.
God bless you and thank you for your service.

1. Remember, 80% of boot camp is the mental stress. Keep in mind that the DI's do their job the way they do for a reason, and they're REALLY good at it, and you'll be okay.
2. No whining. No complaining. Just do what you're told, exactly as you're told, when you're told, and you'll be fine.
3. Don't forget. Even if you give them NO reason to IT you, you'll get IT'd. Handle it with grace and you'll be fine. Their JOB is to get you flustered and upset. That's part of the mental game. Just keep that in mind and you'll be fine.
4. If you're hurt, tell someone.
5. Write your mom every chance you get. Give her details about what your daily life is like... She'll love that. And she can write you every day if she wants, once she has your address.
If you haven't already found it, go to http://www.marineparents.com
Make sure you send your family and loved ones there. There is SO much great information about the Corps, and message boards for parents with recruits in boot camp and deployed Marines. The folks on the message boards will welcome your folks into the Marine Corps Family in ways you can't even imagine. They'll help them through the first few weeks of boot, which are hard on parents, and will become a support system that will last throughout your enlistment.
Finally... thanks for choosing to serve your country in the Marine Corps. You won't regret it!

yes remember no matter what they say or do the DIs job is to make you succeed. You may not feel that way when they are in your face but they also have to weed out those who really aren't fit for duty.
My son is at army boot camp now and my brother gave him some good advice he said
This is an excellent opportunity to learn to keep your mouth shut.
go get em Tiger! OOrah and bless you!

Well my suggestion is don't listen to anybody who would have a screen name like "dilldo"
But there isn't much you can do. You can try sleeping but more than likely your gonna be tossing and turning all night. But when you get to boot camp and lights out comes at 2000 hrs you won't have that problem. Do what you can to get your mind off of it. Play a game or something
