Shock can be divided into 4 types: hypovolemic, cardiogenic, distributive, and obstructive.
Hypovolemic shock is caused by the loss of blood volume (such as through bleeding) or profound dehydration.
Cardiogenic shock is a result of a weakened heart that is unable to pump blood as efficiently as it once did. Cardiogenic shock commonly occurs after a massive heart attack. Or an electric live wire contact.
Distributive shock is a result of the lack of distribution of blood to the organs. Septic shock (shock caused by toxins or poisons released by an infection) and neurogenic shock (shock related to a nervous system injury) are 2 examples.
Obstructive shock results from an obstruction to blood flow at a site other than the heart. The following are 2 kinds of obstructive shock:
Cardiac tamponade occurs when the heart is unable to either fill or squeeze effectively.
A tension pneumothorax is an air leak between the lung and the chest cavity, causing a rapid increase of air within the cavity. This increase in air prevents the lung from expanding properly, applies pressure on the heart, and limits its ability to fill properly.
When the oxygen supply and demand imbalance is in the early stages, the body attempts to correct the problem by improving cardiac output. The earliest indication of shock is an increase in heart rate.

You can get an electrical shock from a wide variety of sources of electricity. The most common is static electricity which can build up in your body from friction when you walk around. Then, when you touch something else that conducts electricity, it acts as a ground and a small shock is transferred.
The worst kind of electric shock is getting hit by lightning, or having lightning hit close to you. That can kill you or mess you up pretty badly.
You can get a shock from a power line if you touch it, or from an electrical cord if it is not properly insulated. The power line can kill you pretty easily, but most people end up getting a small shock at one point or another from a plug or cord.
If you are asking about the medical condition known as a state of shock, that would take a completely different answer.
