I have 2 cats if your kitten is less than 8mos old then I would feed her a form of soft food but replace it with hard food as soon as u can the hard food is eaiser with thier bowl movements...The food I use is Meow Mix indoor cat formula its not expensive and my cats love it...If I were u I wouldn't give my cat to much other than their normal food but some occasional milk or tuna will b a nice treat...And for a kitten get her lots of lil play toys...Cats are unique animals and they return their love in funny ways enjoy your kitten..

Laura you are an idiot. PETS ARE NEVER EVER USED IN FOOD. Euthanized pets are cremated and then buried. Byproducts are the pieces and parts that aren't used for human foods, NOT sick diseased cancerous or pet animals.
Literally there are hundreds of decent foods on the market, it's best to feed both canned and dry, dry to promote dental health and canned to make sure they get enough water intake. Dry food is good for the teeth and wet food is good for the kidneys. Stick to just cat food, it's easier.
She should see the vet, kitten shots are usually done at 6-8 weeks, 10-12 weeks, and 14-16 weeks. The vet will be able to set you up with all the information you need-what to vaccinate for, what to feed, what's normal behavior, when to spay etc.
Good luck and enjoy your new fuzzball : )

I presume you have a kitten. It would be helpful to know how old it is ,however, as kittens go, it is relatively easy to care for one. Kittens are considered "kittens" until they are at least 6 to 8 months old or when they are able to eat regular cat food. They are usually spayed/nuetered at this time. The digestive tract of a kitten is not at all like a grown cat so you must only feed them dry kitten chow by purina or any other brand specifically formulated for kittens. And it is a good idea to have fresh water on hand for them at all times. Also, a small dish of warm milk is a good treat. Any other questions that may arrise should be directed to your veterinarian. Eventually you will have to have it vacinated anyway. Enjoy your new kitten.

Feed some sort of dry kitten food and have plenty of fresh water available. Any nationally known brand should have proper nutrition for kittens. Never give them cows milk because they are lactose intolerant so cannot digest it and will get diarrhea. You could offer them a tiny piece of chicken occasionally, but only for a treat. You might benefit from getting a book about caring for your kittens, either buy one or get it from the library. Check it out online.

Chicken soup or the soul for kittens and Solid Gold Katsinflocken are great cat foods. Also not affected by the food recall.

My cousin, a vet, always recommends Science Diet. Also, dry food is the best as it helps clean their teeth while they are eating it, whereas canned food does not. And as a third note, there has been a recent pet food recall. Check out this website to make sure the food you are feeding all your pets is not included in this recall.

dry kitten food. Don't feed milk or tuna. I was told it is high in magnesium and could cause problems with urinary blockages. Be very careful if it is a male cat. They get them more and it is very expensive and deadly. Also food shouldn't be left out and nibbled on all day. This also can aid in urinary blockages. Keep lots of water out.

Innova is the first cat food recommended to me because they have no animal bi products which are really uthanased dogs and cats.
Kittens will scratch the hell out of everything you hold dear in your apartment, like drapes and upholstery... So, you have to invest in a scratching post ASAP.
Lots of toys for them to bop around and stringy toys for you to wave in front of them for your own amusement as they leap high in the air. They can make you laugh with the silly posturing they have.
A sheltered cat box so that odor doesn't spread in the house and don't put off cleaning that cat box every week... Believe me
Have fun.
