Do you need to be a politician to be in the politics section?

Do you need to be a medical practioner to be in the health and medicine section?

All you need is an interest in these topics.

You don't need to have a belief in god to find religion and spirituality of interest to you.

The religious beliefs of the masses have a major impact on the whole of society.

Wouldn't it be wrong for us NOT to have an interest in the topic?

I'm a Christian and I am glad you have an interest. Maybe through R&S some people will be saved

I know politics affect my life in a big way--so I'm interested.
I live in a body that occasionally requires the services of a doctor--so I'm interested.
If I denied the existence of God, I can't imagine the things of God would hold any interest for me. At least not to the degree they seem to be interested, or obsessed maybe, on here. It doesn't seem to be just interest in the sense that the "religious beliefs of the masses" affect their lives. I know it isn't the same for all athiests, but some seem overly concerned with trying not only to disprove God, but belittling those who do believe. I don't believe in any of the false gods talked about on here, so I don't spend my time trying to disprove them one by one, nor do I ridicule and belittle those who do believe in them. I share about the God I do believe in-that's where my focus is. It isn't that I feel like the athiests shouldn't be on here, I just don't get the fact that they wouldn't spend their time on things they do believe in instead.

We are curious because most respond to questions with snide, unintelligent, and totally disrespectful answers - if we can call them answers.
So, since atheists believe that Christians, or other believers, are fools, why hurl insults. Just move on to other subjects. Your perfectly welcome to ask legitimate questions for the purpose of further understanding, but not to promote your lack of belief.

"You say that the religious beliefs of the masses have a major impact on the whole of society." Your lack of belief has a negative effect on the whole of society. It's a wash.

Now, if you wish to follow believers of Islam (or other religions) who advocate killing you and me, that would be something to follow for the sake of self preservation.

Christians want you here. We just dont want to answer your questions when they get really mean spirited. We don't expect everyone to believe as we do. You say "all you need is an interest in these topics". I agree, but it appears the interest by most is just to be the playground bully. I say, do what you gotta do, but I wish Christians would stop responding to the really God degrading stuff.

This Christian has no problem with you being here until you (not you per say) question my intelligence because I have taken a different belief path in life. That is NOT what answers is for in any section on Y/A's. Peace

Giving them the benefit of some grave doubt, i would suggest that they're curious, and would like to know.

A better question is "Why don't some Christians do a search to see how many times exasperated atheists have answered other Christians who asked on Y!A why they're here--just in the past week?"

I suppose that they ask because most atheists seem to have one purpose and that is to belittle people with belief in a higher power. This makes the experience of Yahoo Answers unenjoyable to those that are legitimately asking questions on Religion and Spirituality.

I wish there was a musical spiritual category . just as Einstein found his god in the laws of the universe some of us find spiritual enlightenment in some forms of musical expression . nothing else says life as articulately to me . just thouhgt I would add this to the void of spiritually in your list .
What kind of music is associated with your religion?

Yes but at least all these people that are in their foreign areas (politics, medicine) recognize that they are unlearned and at some point try to learn instead of belittling these groups. May God Bless U.
