Have you seen how many questions are abandoned in this section by the one asking the question?
I see so many "voting" leaving it up to others to pick a best answer.
Sad, they can ask the questions, but they don't want take the time or responsibility to choose one they like best.
Can't make anyone do anything they don't want to.
It cost them 5 points to ask it, if they would have picked one, they would have received 3 points back and made the one who too the time to answer the question feel like their time and effort was appreciated.

If there were a way to manage new avatars that are simply trolling, I think that would be an improvement. Also, I do think insults tend to fly rather quickly and because this is anonymous and typed, it can be difficult to know if it was serious or kidding. I think allowing people to see who is rating them thumbs up or down would be interesting, after all we see who starred us. As far as the new avatars, maybe there should be a probation before someone is allowed to post questions, if they recieve a violation while answering it could be extended.

I agree w/ here i am. If you're gonna post it Man you gotta personally give a best answer to someone w/ a comment. People that answer questions on R&S usually put a lot of thought into their answers and the asker needs to respect that effort. This ain't the celebrities section where flippant answers are the norm.

Honestly, if people would really really consider how carefully we should treat the subject of religion, the bar would be raised for everyone....

The tone in R&S gets so harsh, judgemental and righteous at times. I apologize if any of my posts here have fallen into those categories.

I know we all feel strongly about our positions....but for Christians, especially... where is the love?

One thing that sometimes helps me is to think of a dearly loved family member who does not share my religious beliefs, and I try to consider what she would think of some of the things here if she were reading. Would they help? enlighten? attract?

Surely we all have such a person....no matter how we feel personally, is there someone you care about whom you would LOVE to hear the message, even if it can't be from you?

Ok, that's all for now...

(sigh, sound of person stepping down, scraping sound as soapbox carried away)

It'd be nice if we could get a Pascal's wager and a few other common questions posted so they don't move from the front with the best available answers... But things we could do without Yahoo's help... Not much...

Give the atheists their own section; since they don't have any religious or spiritual beliefs they just waste everyone's time. Also,a lot of the "spirituality" really would fit in better with the mythology section, especially if it's Aryan German Mythology And Nordic Runes and all that crap.

Treat each other the way we would like to be treated. In short, respect one another's differences and don't ridicule, insult, show hate, make fun of, be rude or do anything else which demonstrates an attitude of meanness. I agree with the person who said we should show respect. That sums it up. Thanks for the question.

Oh, honey, the situation is hopeless. I don't normally do hopeless and helpless, but in this case it isn't worth the effort. Just go with the flow.

Keep it contained. I left for two days after the R&S invasion of the astronomy section. I was disgusted and ashamed.
