Well, I'm trying to buy a bike for myself. However, I'm not sure which wheel size (12'', 16'', etc.) is appropriate for a 10-year-old like me. Please give me advice.

Just go to your local bike shop and they will tell you. However, try this site:

They have a bike size extimator. Don't know if it works for your age group, but its worth a look.

The comment made about girls bike frames is corect, so here is another thing to do. When looking at the bike you are considering, pull the saddle up until your leg is nearly straight when you have the peddle at the bottom of the stroke. If the saddle post looks like it is at the end of its extension, or is in danger of falling out, then I would go for the larger size.

That said, my daughter is 4 and she rides a 12" wheel. I would steer you more towards the 16" wheel size.

If you have a specific model, or budget in mind, re-post a question asking our advice and we can either tell you if it is any good, or point you in the right direction.

Luck

You are probably going to need a bike with 20" wheels if you are of normal height for a 10 year old. But just go to a local bike shop. They will put you on a bunch of different bikes and see exactly which size is best for you.

Standover height is the important measurement.

You should be able to stand flat footed straddling the bike and have at least 1/2inch clearance between your crotch and the bike.

that is the most important.

Guys are stupid about GIRL's bikes. My brother's bike (even if it were shorter) cuts me off, and I have to stand on my tippy-toes on it. I would go with a 16'' because you can allways grow into it. But girls bikes are different than boys, girls have a lower bar.
Hope that helped. ;)

it depends how tall you are but you could adjust some of the seat's height.
