ok
And God said, "NO!"
I asked God to take away my pride, and God said, "NO!"
He said it was not for Him to take away, but for me to give up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole, and God said, "NO!"
He said, "Her spirit is whole, and her body is only temporary!"
I asked God to grant me patience, and God said, "NO!"
He said, that patience is a by-product of tribulation; it isn't granted, it's earned!
I asked God to give me happiness, and God said, "NO!"
He said, He gives blessings; happiness is up to me!
I asked God to spare me pain, and God said, NO!
He said, "Suffering draws you apart from wordly cares, and brings you closer to Me!"
I asked God to make my spirit grow, and God said, "NO!"
He said, I must grow on my own, but He will prune me to make me more fruitful!
I asked God if He loved me, and God said, "YES!!!"
He gave His only Son who died for me, and I will be in Heaven someday because I believe!
I asked God to help me love others as much as He love me,
And God said, "Ahhhh, finally ~ you have the idea!"

yes. I pray now in Jesus name that all these needs are met.We are to pray one for another.Trials are actually a blessing. They are to make us strong.A verse goes like this every thing that happens, happens for the good of those that love the Lord.Every curse God can turn into a blessing.thank God for what we learn from each trial. I read some of the comments about how prayer does not.A group of Doctors conducted a test where some of their patients were prayed for and some weren't.The ones who got prayer consistently got better faster than the ones who weren't prayed for.It was written up in a report and published.

Hello. What is the prayer book for?
Here's a scripture:
James 4
13 Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." 16 As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. 17 Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.

Prayer is very powerful. I asked God to put His hand on those you mentioned and because there is no time limit on God's intentions for our lives, there might not be an immediate response. I do however believe that our patience, perseverance and faith is what leads us out to where God wants us to be. You are very kindhearted to want to help, not everyone has the compassion to want to get involved in others struggles. Thank you for taking the time to ask for prayer, and I hope that peace comes to you and those you are praying for. "If He leads you to it, He'll lead you through it." Good luck and God bless!!!!

Wouldn't it be more benificial to go talk to a friend who may be getting divorced, or help a mentally ill person get some treatment, or taking the pastor some chicken soup? I'm not knocking prayer even though I don't do it. Just think actions speak a little louder than words. Any god I can relate to would think so too.

I do pray for the broken and contrite spirit daily. Thru my job that is mostly what I deal with on a daily basis and it does move me. At those times I wish I was a millionaire so that I could help them all. I need prayer at this time for me and my family. We are going thru many things right now. You know it seems like a lot of God appointed and anointed are 'going thru' righ now. Remember that the Word of God says that if we suffer with Him, we will reign with Him. May God Bless U.

I guess religion or spirituality is your drug of choice, but if that praying makes you feel better... Go for it girl! Truth is though, aint nobody out there listening sweetheart. Sooner you learn that the better of you will be. Every great man or woman who ever left there mark on this world, I mean the people who kicked down the big doors and made our world great. They all had one thing in common, and that is that they were not distracted by praying for answers, they were busy trying to solve problems instead.

This is a very nice, sweet, caring thing your doing! I can tell you are a strong Christain. If you wouldn't mind, could you pray for my Mom? Two reasons, the first reason is because my grandma [her mom] just passed away a month ago from cancer and she is really depressed from it, second reason is because she has a desiese [long story] called visural hyper sensativity. It can't kill you but it makes her stomache ache really bad, like someone stabbing you, she takes alot of meds for it. The docter says its very rare and that it can go away as fast as it can come. But it keeps us from doing alot of things. Thank you for caring! And I will be sure to pray for the people in your life, you, and everyone who is going through hard times!

Done...I have asked God to bring peace and other blessings to the folks you mentioned.
I will also pray for the people who are giving unkind responses to your request.
If you could just keep me and the guy whom I have been dating until recently in prayer. He (I'll call him M), in particular, is having a very hard time with our recent breakup. I have handled the breakup ok, but am sad because he is sad. Thank you for your prayers.

No.
I'm divorced, my sister's bi-polar, I work insanely long hours, my cousin recently died of cancer, a close friend is in debt up to his eyes despite working seven days a week, &c...
Prayer isn't going to fix these things. Prayer is a desperate plea for someone else to right the wrongs. I say it's high time we all take responsibility for our lives, our futures, our happiness...
Better that way...
