Well, it didn't start as one true faith.
Catholic is a greek term- καθολικÏÏ that translates into English as universal. Meaning one universal religion. However it wasn't the ONLY one. There were many... the early church couldn't get their act together and many were so confused by the whole concept of the faith when it began. They understood some...but not everything.
Do some reading into Gnostics, Marcionites, Montanists, Pagans, early cults, etc...
The reason that the catholic church survived is because it evloved into an efficient organization that made it almost a microcosm of the roman empire itself. The had a welfare system and the behavior of the christians toward one another was compassionate. This became a force for stability and appealed to the emperor Constantine, who became a christian himself after the battle of Milivan bridge in 312 and legalized christianity the following year-

There is only one true faith and that is the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ. He did it all for us if only we would believe and trust in what He did for us. He died for our sins, He was buried and took our sins away and He rose again the third day for our justification. Romans 3: 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: Galatians 2: 16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Yes Christianity. Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the father ( God) except through me. Seems pretty clear to me that what he said tells us that there is only one true faith. Belief in him and his word!

I've got to agree with HuffyB and mgradl...the idea of "one true faith" is disturbing on many levels. To think that God would grant a monopoly on the truth to any one group is ridiculous (and has led to most of the problems humankind has faced since societal existence began). When will we evolve and grow enough as a species to realize that there are many paths to the "truth"? By the way, I believe the "truth" is simple: we should love and respect each other. But that's MY conception of the truth, and I don't demand that you share it...or even recognize it.

The One True Faith is the Faith that One is True to. For me, Buddhism. For someone else, Catholicism. For another, Ba'hai. For some, Atheism. For others, Islam.
True faith is perception.

The one true expression of the one true faith is "kindness to your fellow man (woman). Thats my opinion and its as valid as anyone else's. " The existence of a "one true faith " cannot be known until after death...

You are close to the one true faith when you find one that doesn't want money from you to support it's leaders. And doesn't want you to do anything to other people to "prove" that you believe.

just because there is lots of religion doesnt mean anything there is only one true thing and that is believing Jesus Christ died on the cross for you and me and that if you ask him for forgiveness of your sin and ask him to come in your life he will. No MATTER WHAT YOUR PAST IS!!!!!!! I pray that you will find God for he is the one and only.
