**Note: I did NOT do this. But I know someone who did give them a donation...(why, I don't know?!?!?)

Should they change their locks?
Should they invest in some guard dogs?
Or move out of the neighborhood?

No JW solicitation, please.

Absolutely!

Having been a JW and not one any longer I can assure you they will return.

Even accepting their literature without giving a donation is encouragement enough for them to return. It indicates to them that their may be a level of interest from the 'householder'.

They won't do anything criminal so the lock changing, guard dogs, moving should not be required! :o)

However if your truly not interested you need to be polite and firm and tell them so and ask them not to return. Or they will return on very a regular basis.

Jehovah's Witnesses will never ignore a householder's express wishes. At times, a question such as this will elicit dozens and dozens of elaborate schemes to spare a householder an unwanted conversation with Jehovah's Witness door-to-door ministers.

All such schemes are a complete and utter waste of time!

Many of your neighbors have figured it out, and it's really quite simple:
1. Open the door
2. Smile (optional)
3. Ask "Jehovah's Witness?"
4. Receive affirmation
5. Say, "Thank you, but I'm not interested"
6. Gently close the door (slamming is rude, but your prerogative)

Please recognize that Jehovah's Witnesses are not primarily interested in converts, but in working to obey Jesus' command to preach (Matt 24:14; Matt 28:19,20).

No. We come back if someone shows interest or asks us to. Yes accepting a tract or choosing to donate does say to us this person is interested, why else would they do so?:D, if the person at ANY point decides they aren't interested all they need to do is just say so.

I have had dealings with JWs and I do know that if you tell them politely that you do not want their material or a book study they will leave you alone.
If anybody knows what it is like to have a door slammed in their face it would have to be a JW.
You should not worry because they will not bother your friend.

Even without a donation they will keep coming back. If you want them to stop, just ask them. Or don't answer the door.

Oh my God!!! Don't even open the door. Just yell through it "No Thank You." Once you open the door, or God forbid give a donation, they tell each other! One comes Sat. morning. Another comes Sun. afternoon. They leave stuff on/under your door.
Tell your friend to say they're Muslim. My brother-in-law did that and hasn't had a visit since. Otherwise, you may have to disavow all knowledge of your friends.

No, they don't need or want your money. Just keep going to whatever church you go to and throw your money in to the plate they pass every week, and know that you contributed to a false religion. By the way, JW's don't pass a plate, (or a bucket) like other religions.
