Jesus is God!
In the beginning was the word (which is Jesus) and the word was with God, and the word WAS God. -John 1:1
So when we pray we pray to Jesus for it says He is the only mediator between God and man....1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
-Even though He himself is God....He is 3 in one persons! God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit!

The way my religion teaches me which is Catholicism... when we call on Jesus we are calling on God. But I would have to say we call on Jesus to help us because if you believe in God and Jesus you believe that he came from heaven to save us. Also so if he saved us then he could save or help us now. I think that God is One God in three persons. And i think we call on Jesus a lot because of the fact that he came to Earth so he gives us that since of hope!

Because Jesus is the way and He needs us to call Him. We can call on God if we want to since God and Jesus are part of the trinity.

The only way to God is through Jesus.

I know it is kind of abstract in the term: "Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost".

I am not a very religious person. I have and probably still do screw up once in a while.

I just thank Jesus every day...the only time I use the word God (please forgive me) is when I hit my thumb with a hammer...Goddammit!

We can identify with Jesus more; because He is God in the human form. He came and live among us. He suffered and died on the cross for us so we may reenter Heaven. He is the bridge between us and God, the Father. We pray to God, Our Father ( thus, the prayer, Our Father, who art in Heaven.....) in the name of Jesus Christ; who is Our Advocate. But mostly, because we have seen Christ, Our Lord. And thus we are made..... easier to relate to Christ.

I call on both. When I talk directly to God I mention Jesus by name. Name dropping never hurts.

Jesus acts as a bridge between God and us. We are not righteous enough to talk directly to God. Jesus washes us and acts as a attorney for us to talk to God. He says no man came come unto the father but through me.

Jesus was infinitely compassionate, regardless of whether you view him as the Messiah or just another man. But God is harsh and quick to punish, and simply less appealing than Jesus.

because we are appealling to jesus to help ourselves, Jesus is forgiving and if we have made errors we ask for forgiveness and companionship and guidance, when we pray to god we pray for problems which are greater than anything any human has done- eg an asteroid hitting the earth or something.
