Thank him for being there for you with the aid of your grieving technique and which you do not concepts if he is going with the aid of together with his already planned holiday to Hawaii. And that he's not disrespecting all of us in any respect and that certainty that he needs to additionally think of of his nicely being. He replaced into his day of faculty day after right this moment after the funeral and he is going to choose relax. Re-assure him that its o.k. that he's not there in the process the funeral.

Maybe you should go to the wake with your parents (if you're young) and attend the funeral with him. He has to greet people at the wake so it might be clumsy for you to be there the whole time.

talk to him. find out what he would prefer. I dont know if the whole "gay" thing is an issue with any parts of the family, but, a grandmother's funeral is not the place to be making any statements or causing any additional pain.
I'd abide with whatever your bf thinks.
EDIT: i am assuming you are gay....if I am incorrect, I apologize.

Technically, unless you knew his grandmother, you should expect not to go. If he asks you to, that's a different matter, but at 3 months, no one expects to see you there. You wouldn't be out of line to ask him in a neutral way, but placing the expectation of going into your question is intrusive.

Well, you should probably go to support your boyfriend through this difficult time, but if he doesn't want you to, then don't.
