Dear "Uh" - However you define "chatting and spirituality" is probably going to be just fine.

Dear "David", - I am doing fine. How are you. Wow! That made me feel spiritual, and so it motivated me to be nice the next person I meet. If you are in too much of a hurry to be courteous, you are just too busy?

Dear "Courtney and Preshus" - We would be chatting with each other on the topic of expressing our feelings about our relationship with the Universe, (which is one dictionary definition of Religion) ... and how we find a way to cope with ..... well, cope with ourselves, actually?

Dear "GetaGrip" pssst (whisper) - I was thinking of some weird, but common sign languages. I need someone to tell me to get my mind out of the gutter.

If it's not insulting others, I have no problem with chatting. It's part of fellowship which is a spiritual discipline. In this section, there is much debate, and to restore goodwill, I think it's often necessary to have a little humor and good natured chatting.
I've never asked a chatty question, but I've answered many of them. There is the adage "no one cares how much you know until they know how much you care." I think that could apply here.
I know it's hard for newbies to understand, because often the chatting questions are inside jokes or involve regulars and novices have no idea what to make of it.
Maybe they could have a special symbol or something that we could put on such questions so that those who are disinterested, bewildered, or offended could skip them?
My official vote is "yea!"
;o)

Chatting can be very spiritual. How are ya Wayne?
I know Wayne. It seems ridiculous that people think it is ok to fight all day long but just a friendly conversation is considered a violation. I am so sick of getting violations for no reason. I have my own guidelines now and who cares about the damn violations. I have fun talking with the nice people here and almost as much fun with the not nice ones.

Yea, if what you are chatting about is religion or spirituality! Even when it's not specifically religion or spirituality - it can be spiritual in a sense. If you are chatting to check on the well-being of someone, for example, that is sort of spiritual.

Yea. All human activities have the potential for being spiritual exercises, and that includes chatting. It's interacting with other people, which can be a spiritual pursuit in itself.

I must say 'nay', not by it's nature.
To some people, human sacrifice is a form of spirituality. The administrators have to draw the line somewhere....

Chatting on the Internet--as in chat rooms--brings harsh, sometimes obscene words of spirit, from those with arthritis who can only type slowly.

Seen from the right perspective, everything is a form of spirituality:
"Who sweeps a room, as for thy laws, makes that and the action fine."
So I guess my answer is "Yea."

If there's one thing R&S has taught us, it's that almost anything can be considered spiritual, depending on the outlook of the person(s) involved.
