My son is constantly telling stories of his own imagination. I believe he thinks these things are real. He has convinced others of mental illness, yet when he gets his medication he sell them. How do I handle this without getting mentally ill myself.

Call his doctor who is prescribing them to him. This is a felony and should be reported. I would first tell him that you are aware of what he does and that you are going to intervene. Be serious your son could go to jail or even die. Until this is resolved I think you are still killing yourself inside. After the intervention let the trained professionals take over. Good Luck and God bless Lots of Love

So, stop paying for his meds. Take him off your insurance. All good liars and scammers believe their story when they are telling it. It's part of acting! What can you do? Well, get proper unmedicated help for your son and perhaps some counselling for yourself.

talk to his doc. tell him he's selling the meds. what are they? maybe you could have him observed in-patient. see if the doc will go along with it. if he thinks his stories are real that could be a sign that something is really wrong.

The best way to teach him a lesson is to say that you turned him in to the cops or get him a councilor
P.S. how old is he?

Um...how is he selling them back? Do you mean to other kids at school? Because that's illegal...not to mention extremely dangerous....
