No. One of the kids in the class I teach is allergic to tomatoes.

ETA: Apparently, someone died from a tomato allergy... http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/news/woman_dies_from_tomato_allergy.htm

This link... http://www.beginner-gardening.com/tomato-allergy.html says that tomato allergies are rare, but do exist.

According to this article... http://www.foodnavigator-usa.com/news/ng.asp?n=71420-food-allergy-gm-tomato
up to 16 per cent of people with food allergy are said to be allergic or sensitive to tomatoes, "indicating that tomato is a relevant allergenic food," said lead author Lien Quynh Le in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology

I hope that helps!

Tomatoes belong to the Nightshade family foods. They are Potatoes, tomatoes, Chili, Red and Green Peppers, Eggplants, Paprika Cayenne, Goji etc. It is well documented that the nightshades do play a role in the Arthritis, (such things as gout, spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, etc). Some people after eating tomatoes do have many allergic reactions (a good site to visit is www.noarthritis.com) Rashes are very common.

I don't think that you can say that its impossible to be allergic to anything. Everyone's body reacts different to different things, making it possible for someone to be allergic to something which others consider harmless.
As for tomatoes, there are people who have reactions to the acidic levels of them, and who might not feel well after eating them, or it creates rashes or other markings on their bodies.

You can definately be allergic to tomatoes. When I was a child and I'd eat too many of them I'd break out in hives and my mom can't eat them at all. Her throat and eyes swell up.

Yes. My daughter gets rashes around her mouth whenever she eats raw tomatoes. Some people get really severe reactions on tomatoes and citrus fruits especially young ones. That's why on babies, it is advisable not to give them citrus fruits and tomatoes until they turn 1.

Yes; my husband has a skin allergy to them. He can eat them, but if he chops fresh tomatoes, he gets a rash and bumps all over his hands.
