If you are a follower of the Bible then your must answer yes!!! For it is written in your own book, Psalms 82:6. Then Jesus uses this verse in his teaching in John 10:34. The Book is the LAW, right!!?? All others may answer accordingly. All humor accepted. Everyone is a God. Lets hear it, I can't wait for the hypocracy.

Let me say. You have not authority over me and what I interpret. That is my right, remember, free will.
I AM is what GOD would tell you he was is if you asked him. So don't judge the capital A.

You shall die like men if you act like one. Not if you act as a God. Again, FREE WILL.

A metaphore is another way to get your point across, using another description. Move like the wind---describing fast and free. Free as a bird in the sky..same thing. A way to describe something using something else.

Not The GOD, but a god. I guess the capital letter makes all the difference for you who keep the context of the bible in line at all times.
Is a Bannana still a bannana without the Capital B......
You are all very easily manipulated into getting the reaction I was looking for, with a few intellegent exceptions that allowed me to have my opinion. Thanks.

You misinterpret the scripture. In Psalms 82:6 and John 10:34 the word is "gods".....not God. When little "g" is used it in no way is talking about Deity...the One and Only Living God. The scribes & pharisees were the interpeters & inforcers of the law for the Jews. Yet, when God sent His Son to them, they did not recognize Him as Messiah. They accused Him of blasphemy because He claimed to be God, even though He fulfilled the very scriptures they had known since youth. They were full of themselves, basically...."Ye are gods." These same men , who held great responsibility to God & the people, didn't follow the laws of God themselves. Yet they accused Jesus of being an imposter and want to stone Him for claiming to be God. Psalms 82 should be read in whole, as should John 10 to get the clear meaning. In Psa. 82 we hear a prayer for God to judge the leaders who have made themselves as gods and misuse their authority. Ever heard that power corrupts? Well, they seem to get away with it, but the true God will restrain or destroy them. I don't know anywhere in the Bible God says we humans are God. We become the adopted sons of God and His Holy Spirit indwells us at the moment we receive Christ as Savior. That's pretty close, but we are not God.

It means that the Jews are the chosen, the rulers of this earth. Those that have stewardship over the land, which God gave them back in Genesis. The word is lower case - and a couple of verses down it says that all will die like mere men - regardless of calling. Because we are all mortal and made from dust, and our bodies will return to dust.
It is the soul that lives on - and it is under God's reign that we will live.
*edit*
You complain about people not reading the scripture before answering. Maybe you should actually read the entire context before assuming. The Psalm is about that no matter how high we rise on this earth we are mortal - God is the only eternal being. It is Him that we serve.

You took both Scriptures out of context and if you read all of Psalm 82 you see the real meaning of that verse. Plus in that verse and the verse following it says " I said 'You are "gods", you are all sons of the Most High.' But you will die like mere men; you will fall like every other ruler." The word gods is in quotations because that was what the men were calling themselves and it says right there that they are not because they will die just like mere men. If you read all the story in John 10 you see the real meaning of that verse which is that Jesus said that the Law never says that we are gods and he is right the Law never says that. The religious leaders were trying to trap Jesus with questions and he explains in John 10 why He is the Son of God.

No, Christ Jesus does not stop with the words found in the Psalm. He goes on to use it to confirm His own unique, special Deity and Sonship.
The Psalm called the ones "unto whom the word of God came" "gods", in a limited sense, as we may see by the use of the lowercase "g", as well as considering the passage in the light of the bulk of Scripture.
In John, Christ Jesus tells the Jews that He is the Son of God. There's a difference; Jesus is THE Son of God; God Himself. The ones mentioned in Psalm 82:6 are obviously not as important as Christ; they are not God. Christ Jesus goes on to explain this in John 10:36-38.
Thus, to claim to be a "god" is a very different thing than to claim to be "God". Jesus claimed the latter; thus, the Jews wanted to stone Him for blasphemy. Had he merely said that he was a "god", He would not have incited them, since they knew the Scripture. They refused to listen when He said that He had a special connection to the Father as a result of His Deity and authority.
May God bless you.

God is in us. God is in all living things.
He does not have to be reached through a particular building, he does not have to be reached through a priest/pastor.
He surrounds us with his beauty. If you research the lost gospels of the bible, and search in the Gospel of St. Thomas in particular....it has been said that this is the closest interpretations of Jesus' actual words. Spoken through Jesus to Thomas, and to the people of God.
Of course there are many more than just Thomas, but this text deals directly with your question/statement/
Churches do not deem these texts worthy of their bibles (doubt their credibility even though they were found with the Dead sea scrolls), as it would make churches (the buildings, clerics, and tithings herein) null and void.
God is within us all, we are not God.
Blessings to you.

THE BOOK IS THE LAW.... the WORD is the law....Not YOU. Stop trying to confuse people with your twisting of Jesus words. The WORD was given to us by God but that doesn't mean we are Gods. As a matter of fact your question is just lame without any real foundation or facts to back it. I am sure you are going to get a lot of hate mail. I am trying not to be to arrogant or self righteous though.

In Psalms 82 read 5,6,7,& 8
In John 34, Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, " You are gods " So this means that Jesus is telling the people, that by their laws they are gods. Jesus never said they were gods! You misunderstood the wording!

That verse actually says, 'gods'- lower case 'g.'
I think the Hebrew translation is more like "You are like gods/You are as gods" instead of "you ARE gods." It doesn't literally mean, "You are God!"
Gaaa! I read an article a while ago that explained this better and now I can't remember what it said!
Hopefully other answers will be able to clarify.

Notice in Psalm 82:1 where God is standing when He says, "You are gods." God is judging among the gods of the congregation in heaven. Judges are called "elohim" gods, in verse 6 because of their responsibility to represent God. In John10:34 Jesus quotes this verse to support His deity.
We are children of the Most High God and we will rule and reign with Christ Jesus in the 1000 year millenium. We are heirs with Christ, but first we need to get to heaven or return with Jesus for the 1000 year Millenium.
Our body is the Temple of God and we represent Christ on this earth, but instead of getting high and mighty, we need to humble ourselves and wash some feet as a child of God first. The Holy Spirit inside will keep us humble, but we are to deal with evil spirits and discern them. The closer we walk with Christ the greater the annointing of the Holy Spirit. You can cast out demons, heal the sick, repair the brokenhearted and preach the gospel of Christ and prophesy. Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world.
Jesus said with faith we can move mountains. Just the name of Jesus has moved the wicked out of the way many times.
We are only called gods because of our responsibility to represent God upon this earth. I haven't received my inheritance yet and Christ hasn't given me my crown that I am waiting on so until we get our rewards we don't get the title of god either. However, I never underestimate the Holy Spirit who is inside of me. I am far from being forsaken. I am protected and I have provision. I'm engraved on my Father's hand and no one can take me out of His hand.
