God LOVES you, and wants you to have a full life of joyfully following Him because you want to, not a shriveled life of shivering and shaking in fear of an eternal rotisserie. Christ came not to damn the world to Hell, but to save it -- that is the Gospel! Jesus took the penalty. You are forgiven -- right now -- as you are. Grasp hold of that love and forgiveness, celebrate and live in it !
This kind of event isn't a fundy thing or a Baptist thing -- most such churches that I know of wouldn't even think of doing it. Even in its tamer versions, it overplays bad news so much it pretty much blocks out the Good News, and puts the emphasis on your sin and fear instead of God's love.
In short you are in "recovery" now!

they didnt answer because they have no answer to give. and they have their heads so far up their @sses, they wont admit the flaws in their "magic book". why would a god that jesus said wanted all to love each other, forgive, help the less fortunate, etc. create the most awful place ever. a place so awful that humans couldnt even picture a place so bad.
They dont know, but refuse to admit that their lip service religion is a lie.
They cant explain how if the entire world was flooded and the only animals that lived were on Noahs ark, how all the marsupials are primarily around Australia, New Zealand area. and they dont believe Pangia(or however you spell it, when the earths land was one large land mass). My grandmother refuses to believe dinosaurs were real because the bible never talked about them. she says that they just found some old elephant and cow bones and put them all together to make something up, I kid you not.
Religion brings nothing to our lives but intolerance and bigotry. Think of the medical advancements we could be working on through stem cell research if the scientists werent handcuffed by the religious right. And that REALLY BIG @SSHOLE in vatican city speaking his 2 cents. You know for all the money they have horded away, or should I say "whored" away, there are an awful lot of countries where catholicism is the majority religion that are 3rd world status of close too it.
to those people hell is everyday they wake up without food for them or their children, not some hoodoo scare tactic to keep the sheep in line.

Christians don't regurgitate, we may recite what the bible says, but you make it sound like we are brain washed or something. But i'm not afraid to answer your question, even though it's completely irrelevent because i'm not God. God is the only God and I am not him. (had to throw in my "regurgitated" drabble...lol)
But to answer your question, I really don't know, i would like to have compassion on people and give them a second chance, but if i had a world as terrible as this world is, i would be fed up with them. Think about: How would you feel if you had people calling you a liar all the time, refusing to believe anything you say, and even denying that you exist? I know i wouldn't feel very good about, i get mad when one of my friends forget my birthday, think about how mad you would be if you had people constantly forgeting your birthday, and not even wanting to call it your birthday. Personally, God is more mercifully than i would be, because there's only so much i can take.

Hi there. That's not a bad question: If you were God, would you put all your bad creations into eternal torment, or find out why they made the wrong choices and help them recover? I mean, you are all-powerful, this should be a trivial task...
It seems like you already know the answer... He would help them recover. Of course, not everyone WANTS to recover.
In the LDS (Mormon) view this is what happens: There are three "heavens". One is where God lives and this is where we can obtain "eternal progression". If we go there, we get unlimited potential, like God has.
The second one (down) is where good people go, who just weren't valiant, open-minded or faithful enough. Jesus and angels visit this place. These people are also happy, but don't have unlimited potential. Basically, these people have limited themselves.
The third (and last) "heaven" is where bad people go - ie murderers, adulterers, liars, etc, who didn't repent, either in this life or the afterlife. Note that everyone gets ample opportunity to repent and accept the Atonement of Jesus Chrsit - whether in this life or the next. People in this kingdom of glory (as the LDS call it) don't WANT to be near Jesus or God. They choose their own habitation so to speak.
There is no place where people go to burn in eternal torment. Each place is suited to a person's abilities and choices - ie who they have become.
It's basically like this: If you are a smoker, you feel comfortable around other smokers. If you love God, you feel comfortable around other people who love God. If you are highly motivated, you feel comfortable around other highly motivated people. You live eternally in the place where you want to be, basically. God won't force himself on you.

THe answer is because God doesnt force someone to follow him. There is no such thing as "rehabilitaion" for a lost soul. They are born again entirely or they are not. THey change their mind and follow God or they dont. God would hardly be glorified if he forced people to obey and love HIm. Thats the truth from the Bible. If u call citing the word of God "regurgitaion" you're right I guess, putting it irreverantly. Of course they regurgitate it. Its everlasting truth. Do u want us to change the answer God has already given to that question??lol Unbelievable. (If I weren't such a good Christian I'd call u and idiot : )

Personally, I would say that if God were in fact real that the absence of a persons character and memories or reducing them to children would be enough to reform them. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away......memories. So, less would again be more... to relearn. Some might refer to this as brainwashing but, whatever works uno. In this way millions of souls could be reduced into one form or heavenly body. Just as there are blood cells within your body. So, with God all things are still possible. God need not destroy anyone. Separating the wheat from the chaff can be done in more ways than most realize.

Who doesn't God try to rehabilitate ppl? He has.
Jesus is God's rehabilitation plan, and the only one that works forever. The real problem is that Adam and Eve's sin corrupted us, we are all cursed bc of that, and so we have a sin nature. It's like a flaw in a gemstone, we can try to polish ourselves up and get a nice cut, but that flaw is still there, and it comes out.
The only way to "rehabilitate" someone is to fix the flaw, and the only way to do that is by following Christ. Follow Christ, and in time He'll change your heart into a new one that doesn't have the flaw. You'll still have free will, however, so if you sin you create another flaw in yourself, and you have to repent and start over again.

Just wanted to recopy this so its easier for me and others to reply...
Honestly? I know this sounds like a cop-out answer, but I don't think I would do anything differently from the way God is doing it. I really believe He knows what He is doing, so I would probably go with it.
People have to want to be with God to be with Him, and if they don't, God can't "rehabilitate" them or help them recover from not wanting him. The people who don't want God shouldnt have to be convinced to want Him, right? It shouldnt be forced on them, which in a way it would be.

I don't usually answer hypotheticals. I think for myself. So I say people have a whole entire lifetime of recovery here on the earth. God is constantly working with people to get them to believe while they are here on the earth. Through the different trials and tribulations that we all face as humans..He uses those to reach us and give us chance after chance.
Look at all the Christians that took time to answer your question and your still angry. I pray one day soon you'll make your peace with God. Somethings only He can answer for you.

Okay If I was God I would do just what God is doing and allowing right now. One cannot override what the savior has already said and done. You want someone to think themself God and redo what God has allowed in a different nature to help mankind like saying they can be better than God. No way, God way or the high way and God has said a murderer will not enter heaven and later has said if they repent they can make it in. Religion tells us nothing God put his laws in our heart, of curse relligion teaches and point the gateway to him.
