As in the sense that Krishna means when he is speaking to Arjuna before the battle? Thanks.

To be detached is to be even-minded in situations, happy or sad. It is the practice of not giving in to our emotions.

Detachment is not to be confused with being insensitive or unemotional, but it signifies being well in control of one's emotions. Being indifferent to pleasure or pain sharpens the mind and allows us to make clear, unfaltering decisions.

Detachment is equivalent to the Hellenic concept of Stoicism.

Krishna did not condemn Arjuna for crying or shaking before the battle, nor for his fears or attachments. Rather, Krishna condemned Arjuna for not acting on His order despite those obstacles. To grieve and feel afraid or insecure in the midst of upheaval is human. We don’t have to pretend to be unmoved if we are quaking inwardly. Neither should we pretend we are callous if we’re actually upset. What is required is not pretense but steadiness. This is what is meant by detachment.

I am not a Hindu, but have studied the teachings.

im a hindu.Krishna states that when one if free from all atatchments, he no longer sufferes pain. if you are attatched to something and it dies or breaks u will be depressed, pained , and sad......but if u weren't attached........then why would you feel sad? krishna says that one should leave all attachments to do what is right, and to reach god. arjuna wasn't going to fight at the sight of his family on the opposing team, but krishna says;"these bodies are nothing but flesh.even if u kill the body, the soul will travel onm forever.u can kill the body;not the soul.".Krishna says that Arjuna had to free himself of attachments, or he won't be able to foght against his family in the MahaBharatha WAR! Hope i helped! BYE!
