...For example the Canon Digital Rebel XTi (with kit lens) sells for around $780.00 on Amazon.com but the same camera sells for $899.00 in department stores. I've been told that online sites can afford to sell them cheaper becase they are a foreign models, is this true?

Also, I've heard the rumor that because websites sell foreign models of such cameras, if there is ever the need to have a repair done by the manufacturer the camera will be sent out of the country to be fixed. Is this all made up?

I think you might be confusing two things.
Some stores offer US versions at their regular price AND import models at a slight discount (compared to their regular price). These import models should always be indicated as such. And as you suspected, the import models have shorter / no warranties.
No warranty = discount.

But also consider that Amazon etc. buy in bulk and get discounts from Canon. They also have less overhead per camera sold. They're simply passing those savings on to you. This explains lower prices for the USA version.

A Rebel XTi is usually intended for the USA so it should have the proper warranty where ever you buy it. In Europe, the same camera is labelled as a Canon 400D, and in Japan it's called a Canon Kiss digital X.

I wouldn't buy uggs from anywhere except their website. The reason for this is because there are so many fake uggs that websites try to sell just to make money. These fake uggs are cheaply made and fall apart quickly. Ugg does have boots on sale once in a while though so I would check their website. Remember, you get what you pay for.

It's not rumour. What you're referring to is the "grey market" where merchandise intended for sale in one country is imported and sold in another. It's not illegal, but you do need to know what you're getting into and the risks.

I've added a Popular Photography link for you to read.
