I'm fat too. What it comes down to is all about me. I have to set my mind to it and stay focused on my goal. I know you can do it!

I'm in middle school, too :D
Start counting claories and exercising appropriatley. Good job for signing up for track! You should make sure that you are hydrated all the time, for if you drink a lot of water, you can increase the speed of your metabolism (the thing that burns fat). Carry a water bottle in ur backpack and drink some if you get hungry, too because water can make you not As hungry. Just don't be like that lady on the 107.9 radio contest in Sacramento who died from drinking too much water. Drink about 8 cups a day.

Be sure to get enough nutrients and vitamins. I reccommend taking Teen vitamins ( i currently take them) from GNC. Eat veggies and fruit. Oh, and don;t forget SOME carbs/grains (not too many) and protien. Protein helps MAINTAIN muscle. If you find yourself not loisng weright as rapidly as you might like, consider that exercising can tone your body and muscle weighs MORE than fat. Get enough sleep, that will help lose weight (not too much.) Stay active and eat right. Treat yourself to a cookie or a bag of chips every once in a while. If you cut fat and sweets out entirely, your body will not know what to burn. Don't be buliamic or anorexic or anything. You can do it! i just lost 18 lbs! Good luck! :D

not drinking soda or drinks with high fructose corn surup is a big help in losing weight, reduce your normal amounts of food portions... some say eating only what you can fit in the palm of your hand is good, but don't starve yourself . drink lots of water ... when you feel hungry most times your thirsty and mistake the feeling for hunger and drinking water helps make you forget about cravings. eat healthy fruit and veggies your in middle school so you should know whats healthy and what not... exercising always works so joining the track team was good... ask you parents for help in losing weight and dont try to be stick thin! tell yourself that you look good if you believe it others will too! good luck ;)

Continue to eat healthy food but cut back some on your portions. Also, cut out junk food except for a possible "treat" every now and then. Eat more veggies and lean meat and go light on potatoes, rice, and other starches. If you do this and continue with the track team, I guarantee you will lose weight.

Oh, hold on here. There is NO WAY you would have been chosen for the track team if you were FAT. I'm sure you are just fine---you want to look like one of those STICK-GIRLS in your uniform. It's SO UGLY.
If you know your height, this will tell you what you should weigh:

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats and it will tell you how many calories a day you need to maintain your weight. take 300-400calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
eat 5-6 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones.
5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day.
8 glasses of water a day.
4-6 times a week cardio work out for 30-50min plus light weight training.
no junk food, no sodas, no white flour (white bread, pasta, cookies, cakes etc)

if you're on the track team you'll probably end up losing weight and building muscle from all that running. my friends just joined the track team this year and they're already more muscular.
