Those of us in the military section of yahoo answers who are smart enough to realize that users like Ashley Meyers, ERUDITE, and the others on here who are simply trying to get a rise out of people and show their contempt for America should be able to agree that the best course of action when we see a question from them is to look at it, if violates the terms of use set up by Yahoo Answers report it, and then simply not answer the question. Just ignore them and eventually they will get tired of not being able to get our blood boiling and quit. Can we agree to do this?

Shooter08, first off thanks for your service in Vietnam. You paved the way for all of us to follow. You deserve more gratitude than we could give. Second, do what you think you have to do. I am just tired of their BS. I am just planning on reporting them and not answering the questions anymore. The may reappear like one poster said, a troll is a troll, but we can deal with them then in the same way. Personally I would rather answer them face to face but they are to cowardly to meet one of us and do that. If you can carry on with them by all means do so.

I know new users may not know what is up with the trolls but we can waylay that by informing them very quickly when we see them answer a question of theirs. Also we will know the trolls when we see them. A leopard can't change his spots, neither can a dumbass.

charlacutt the point I was trying to make was pretty much the same. Since you already reported me for whatever dumbass reason you came up with I guess then my time on Yahoo answers is drawing to an end. I was trying to get everyone to ignore them, just like you suggested too. Guess you wanted it done your way instead. So if I get banned from here at least people will know why. Although I doubt yahoo will do it. Erudite and the rest are still here, so I probably will be too. And charla if you are going to report me again say so in your post. Dont email me like a chump asking me how do I like it.

If no one answers the un-American jerks, what will people think world wide? This is not just a USA site and personally I think we should all rant on any anti-American or put down of our Military. I'm not about to stand by and let some sub-human no good nasty SOB talk bad about my Country, my Warriors, my way of life or my God without saying a thing or two back at-um.

Some may think Freedom is Free. I'll tell you from experience it is not. The Soldiers in our military today are all volunteer warriors. They know the possible cost to them when they take the oath to defend our country and our freedom, but they are WARRIORS. They have the best equipment and the most lethality of any military force in the world, and damn well know how to use it. I served in the Army for 20 years and then as a DA civilian for another 20. I served in Vietnam with the 101st and earned a Green Beret when I returned in 1968. I worked as a Force Protection Specialist before, during, and after 9/11. Now I am an old man, but I still have the warrior attitude, mentality, and the knowledge I have accrued throughout my life. There will always be those that want what we have or just want to kill us for what we are. We must have the balls to stop that from happening. The present casualties are sad but extremely low for what Freedom has cost us in the past. Rest assured, if I were a young man again, I would be in Iraq now. God bless our WARRIORS, and peace through fire superiority...

I agree 100% with OldGuy. Sticking your head in the sand & attempting to ignore the trolls will not guarantee their extinction. Call them on the carpet, show that their feeble attempts to make a lucid argument is ill-tempted and that their logic is flawed. Demonstrate that one of the greatest freedoms we have is that of free speech. There was a time I would have gladly gone to fight to defend that right. I won't back down from my ability to use it now.

This is a forum based upon participation. I do not support censure - regardless of whether I agree or disagree with one's viewpoint. What makes this forum what it is - is the ability for anyone to state their point of view. An open discussion is essential to the debate process. Besides - I don't see the point in taking anything the trolls say personally! It is not an aggravation to me - rather amusement to see that they can't come up with anything beside the same ol' b.s.

um, sure. I love my country, and I suppose that I can understand this. I don't know who these people are, but I do that anyway with people whose content I find disagreeable, b/c I know that Yahoo! only acts on things that it's individual operators don't like, but it has an automatic something that filters everything that can be remotely misconstrued as violating Y!A guidelines. What you're saying is a good point, but it could technically be considered several violations.

People like that would just learn how to phrase their questions so that it would not violate the terms of use. And they prob have a following so they would have answers. All we can do is try to over look the small minded people and support the troops. if we give in and allow ourselves to become upset they have already won.

okay i don't see why you all have to get your panties in a bunch. there just trying to get a rile out of you, just ignore then period.reporting then is still giving them something to be amused about.what there trying to do is get a response out of you and by reporting them you are giving them the same thing as answering the question. plus why do you take what they say to heart???there just messing around.just ignore then totally, do not answer or report them. they have a right to free speech to even if you do not like it. they also have a right to there own opinions to. and you reporting them does nothing. i could report you for being an @$$ to other people, like pushing you ideas of a smart person on us.why let the people get to you if you read there questions and do not like them then why answer at all and give them the satisfaction of pi$$ing you off???that's all they want. so i suggest, to ignore then totally, and get over it and learn to laugh. it's no big deal i mean they could be in the marines or they could be a wife them self's just trying to make people made. so get over it learn to laugh and just ignore it like i do. it's people like you that get on my nerves, thinking you know everything, you make it a big deal and guess what them they win.

If it were only that easy... Trolls *NEVER* get tired of being Trolls.... there are always new users (who wouldn't have seen your post) to annoy... It is likely that they incite some to give answers that are themselves reported. The problem is with YA as much as the Trolls...

First off, it has to be a violation, like yours in your question, as it against yahoo terms of use to name people like you did, second because I do not agree with George Bush's policy's or the war against the Iraqi people, I am just as American as you are. So report on bubba, I will still disagree when it is necessary. I think that anybody agreeing with a war that is in place just to make Bush and his cronies rich is wrong and we need to bring the brave troops out of harms way now, not later. .

I report Ashley Meyers everytime, but she/he is still around. What is being done by Yahoo to curb or eliminate them off the site?

>>>>>Can all of us in here who are really smart enough agree on this? <<<<

I notice you all talk like "you are right.period." "really smart."
I dont think you are.

You talk like "others put America down" "unamerican"
I think you are unamerican by supporting things that are unamerican.

being a blind sheeple-is not smart for any country.

There as many right wing as there are left wing Trolls.
Let them vent. Thats the way they talk. Leave all people alone. Teach your piece the best you can.
