Happy...I know it can get really bad. I am sorry if someone hurt your feelings. I know that at times I get too wrapped up in things here and end up feeling really bad. Hugs.

Do you mean openminded or tolerant of anything. Were are all the same in defending what we believe and what's wrong with that? If you want to learn about my religion you must expect me to say it is the right one or I wouldn't be true to it. Truth is not hatred or superiority.

I agree with you HappyKid, although sometimes I don't always act upon that belief. Sometime I convince myself of the superiority of my beliefs even though I know I DON'T know nearly as much as I think I do. I say let people believe what they want to because if you can't see all the craziness going on in our world and all the mystery shrouding our past then you're something else.
Let people wander where they will. Not all who wander are lost, after all.

I'm not a really religious person, but I do understand what you mean.
Many people are so wrapped up in their own faith that they simply won't accept another way of thinking.
IMO, hatred toward other religious beliefs and/or acting as though their beliefs are superior constitutes ignorance... and is extremely hypocritical.
In most cases, that kind of behavior deviates against the foundation of the faith that they are so avidly defending!

If you ask a question then you must be willing to have answers that you won't like. On this site or not. That is part of life. I am not saying that I don't agree with you. As far as religion, that is a personal choice and NO ONE should tell you that your religion is wrong. Unless of course you are a devil worshiper, that is just wrong on so many levels.

You just reminded me of the smug cloud in a South Park episode...and yes, I dislike the smug people as well.

If by "smug" you mean that I am not going to water down my beliefs just to satisfy you, then you're probably right. I am not going to deny that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no man comes to the Father except through Him.
Nor am I going to pretend that everyone is going to Heaven when the Bible clearly states that there is a Hell and that those who reject Christ are going there. That doesn't mean that I hate anyone here or that I feel superior to them. . .I don't.
It just means that I am not going to go against Scriptural facts just to make someone else feel good about denying Christ or believing falsehoods.

I wonder the same thing... I guess they are just insecure.
When people act like that, they stop open-minded people from being able to explore new ideas, which stops us (by which I mean the Human Race) from learning new things and moving forward.

YES! you said it all! Having an open mind will change your life, but so many people are so smug that they wont even consider other peoples beliefs.
