Cassandra means "she who entangles men". It's Greek. Some sources I checked said it also means "doom" or "unheeded prophetess". Cassandra was a Trojan princess in the Iliad who had received the gift of prophecy. She predicted the fall of Troy, but nobody paid attention to her.
