A lot of my friends will go around saying that they had a bf, but they never talked to their bf or went out anywhere with them. So, can I say that this was my bf to my friends. (at least I talked to this person.)

Whenever my parents went to go see his parents we would always play together.

He was always nice to me.

We always used to hug

Whenever he came to my house he would always play with me.

Since my friends have had bf's that they never talked to, can I call this person my bf? I think he liked me and I liked him too. And we spent time with each other. And at least I talked to him. What do you think?

If this is not considered a bf then why do so many people go around saying that they had a bf in kindergarten or in 3rd grade? It is probably the same thing I had with this person.

No, that would not be the truth and even more so childish.

Sure you can. You can call them whatever you want. If they question it just say he is a boy and he is a friend. So that would be a boyfriend. He might not like the idea of you saying that. Besides why do you have to tell people you have a boyfriend. If they ask just say that there is a boy I hang out with and stuff but You don't need a boyfriend so you don't really classify him as one.

You could always look up in the dictionary what "boyfriend" means and see if the definition fits. If it does then by all means go ahead and call him that.

I don't think you should. I knwo people say they had bf's in kindy or primary, but these people are often insecure and just want to seem cool. You're right, it probably was exactly the same thing but it didn't make it right. I know life seems like it resolves round having or having had a bf but it really doesn't. I don't see why people would care about these girls ex-boyfriends anyway, because it's really boring. So just be an individual and tell people you never had boyfriend. By the sound of these girls bf's, they haven't had one either

at a younger age people have lower expectations of what they will get from their bf. at 3rd grade a bf is a guy you could hang out with in school and maybe afterschool. In highschool between 14-16 you start to date and you expect more of an intimate relationship. then you start to want sex because now you can have sex. the expectations are different at each age level becaue the older you get the more you are allowed to do with eachother. if you are 25 and you call your boyfriend a guy who is a family friend and never go out have sex and eventually live with eachother then bf is worth nothing because you will never reach the next step to engagement and getting married. lets assume you are in between 6-12th grade some girls will try sex between 6-10th grade and more will between 10-12th but not all and most of them say it was a mistake huge risk for no outcome usually the guy was not right and you were just forcing it for the experience. So in that case i would even it out to saying between those ages if you are dating him at the time he is your boyfriend. sex is a prefrence and not required.

I think they are confusing having a friend who is a boy, rather than an actual boyfriend. One who they go out with and certainly talk with.
At their ages, I think it's all in their minds. Just wanting to sound more grown up.
At least you know the boy. but he's just a friend who's a boy.
Don't lower yourself to their level. Just smile at them when they state their claims to a boyfriend.

That is absolutely ridiculous, don't say that because that makes you like them (not necessarily a bad thing), however, it will make you look bad if they all find out.
