Well... lesseeee... there's Tara, Kuan Yin (aspect of Tara taken to a "goddess" level) both female... then there are the different kinds of Buddhas... what's he/she holding or how are the hands placed?

addition: reads like an aspect of Tara, if it's feminine but I've never seen one like that. Manjushri is a young looking aspect of Buddha, he wields a sword to slice through ignorance and all the other non-virtuous thinking... I'm at a loss.

Sorry I'm not much help there are so many images I haven't seen all of the different ones yet myself.

Ahhh, darn, I'm not good with Bodhisattvas. The only prevalent female Buddhist figures I can think of are Yasodhara (Buddha's Wife)
Queen Maya (Buddha's Mother)
Prajnatara (Bodhidharma's Mentor"

Yes, if he is holding a sword it is almost certainly Manjusri, the Boddhisattva of Wisdom.
"With his sword he cuts through the bonds of ignorance."
Usually the beauty of these statues (or rupas) is a reflection of the skill of the person who made them.
