First, she should talk to her doctor. I assume she has already been following the rape, but if not, she must go immediately! She could have any number of issues including STDs and pregnancy.

Second, you do not have to be a virgin. It will be effective as long as she has not already been infected with the virus.

You don't have to be a virgin. It just makes more sense.

The point of being a virgin when immunised is that cervical cancer is linked to sexually transmitted virus (HPV) & sexual activity.

The vaccine is a PREVENTATIVE measure, not a cure. Since if you are a virgin it is unlikely you would already have cervical cancer, the vaccine will hopefully prevent it occurring.

If you are under 26 years old and have had less than 3 partners, they will still give it to you. There is also a blood test to check for HPV as well as other STDs. She should get checked out to make sure she doesn't have any. It does not prevent all types of HPV, just the most common types. Tell her to be careful.

if only virgins could be immunized, they would not need so many doses.
an individual is exposed to the HPV ( human papilloma virus) anytime during close sexual contact.
The clinic or private doctor will reassure you that this vaccine is a necessary protection.
