I agree that it is not in the RAE but even though we base ourselves on it, there are many colloquial words that at the end become part of it because those are the ones normally used. It is the main reason for the RAE to get adjusted all the time.

En un contexto de ingeniería mécanica se podría decir 'auto limpiador' y es lo mismo en unas válvulas de sytemas de aire acondicionado.

Depends on the context, but you can say

"se auto-purifica"
