I'm always confused as to why when I or anyone else for that matter asks a question about Christianity that I receive biblical quotes rather than a direct, personal answer. Why do you feel the need to quote scripture when I'd really rather hear from you, yourself? I find it much more personal and interesting. Namaste!

are you Hindu? Namaste right back at ya(ONLY Idian word I know) hey i never quote scripture, all my answers come from my head and heart. very rarely do I even look up an answer on the net. so whats your question? ok i will ask and answer
1. do i believe in one God?-definately
2. do i talk to Him?- of course
3. do I attend church? no. why not you may ask. Because my God is all around me. I look at a blade of grass and HE is there. I gaze at the sky and HE is sprread out before me
I went to church on Easter and didnt get much from it. I felt like I was on at one of those televised ministries. It was a good show but it didnt move me. so if I cant find the Lord in nature I sure wont find Him in a wood and steel building.

I would say since man is not "all knowing" or always right you should look it up for yourself! If you asked me a question like "would it be okay to lust after someone who is not your spouse." All men will give different answers(which will send you in different directions other than the way of God) but the bible is always the same, God's word will never changes.

There's a song that says the bible is right and somebodies wrong. If you still have a question you should just ask the Lord and he may not answer you in the way you would like but he will in the way that He sees fit.
Also if you would read the bible it talks about man being born into sin and man is full of sin, there is no way you can make a righteous decision without God because Jesus was the only on without sin. There is no good or right-ous decision that will come from man without God, because he created us and He is holy.

Just like with children when you set rules like "dont play with the stove", you expect them to follow them because that's just the rules parents know whats gonna happen. The child may not understand he just likes the way it makes him feel and its attractive it lights up. You dont have to ask yourself what's gonna happen to a kid, if he plays on the stove, you already know. God did not make rules or have other men set examples (bible) just because he was bored it was for our own good. You play with fire you get burned those are the breaks, you know that.

possibly we are only attempting to grant our attitude. regardless of each little thing, all every person can provide is their very very own attitude except it rather is quoted. The Bible is an staggering reference in my opinion. Why post a question if we don't desire all distinctive concept's and perspectives. i presumed that become the whole concept. i'm going to be incorrect even though it look that there is a few conviction occurring right here?

No person attempts to make their interpretation honest to “the facts”, but rather “the facts” are determined by reference to the individual’s system of interpretation.

Therefore, our systems of interpretation (presuppositions) determine how we look at the world. No one is a neutral explorer.

When you ask simple questions, you should not get inundated with bible quotations.

When you ask questions like the following:

Who invented 'The Rapture'?
Why do you feel it necessary to condemn others to hell?

You cannot reasonably expect to get answers from a Christian that excludes the bible.

I am a Christian rationalist of the order of Augustine and Calvin. My rational system does not exalt the human mind as autonomous; instead, it affirms Biblical revelation as axiomatic. Divine revelation of Holy Scripture is a rational revelation. This revelation is internally self-consistent, non-contradictory, and non-paradoxical. A rational Christian reasons from revelation, not to revelation or apart from revelation. My Christian faith is intellectually defensible.

Everyone should quit acting as if they objectively evaluate the evidences in some neutral laboratory before arriving at the likely rational conclusion. Both explorers (believers and non-believers) possess different commitments that control their interpretations of the evidences.

As a Christian, I presuppose a Triune God exists. Therefore, I am obligated to see all of reality in the light of who God is and what He has revealed to me in His word, the Bible and in the world around me.

Thus, with my worldview, why should I not draw upon what I have rationally concluded is reasonable?

People sometimes like scripture, I just give my answer though. Anybody can pick up a bible and read it. Then again some people are looking for scriptures so they have place to start in the Bible.

I give my answer and why and try to be non baised even if I have extreme views on said question.

Since Christians are taught to refer to Scripture for almost everything when a spiritual matter arises, it's habit.

I'll try to be around the next time you ask. How's that? While i use scriptures, I'm conversant enough on most subjects to discuss it sans-quotes. Although some questions require a reference, and as I said Scripture is what I have, I use it.

I will watch out for you!
Hope this helps!

A lot of times when a Christian is asked a question, we are asked to prove our answers. We are not used to answering a religious quetion without having to back it up. I personally enjoy my faith and I am very happy with my life - all due to God. He has cleaned me up and made me the best I can be, and I get better everyday.

Some people do not have a personal faith. Their faith or religion is a product. If all a person can do is quote scripture they might be unsure in their faith. I know that the Creator walks with me daily, all my strength comes from the Creator. I don't need to quote scripture to believe in the Creator. I have the sunrise, children's laughter, a hawk flying in the air. I feel the Creator in the wind upon my face. I reach my hand out to you. Will you join me in faith alone?

Because the scripture quotes are the answer. Why are you blind to the answer?

You can ask, in your question, to please answer in ones understanding of the verses they wrote.

To me the bible verses give me the biggest victory over wrong thinking & negativity.

The bible is the heart of God. Who God is. How God gives us the answer. The Holy Spirit enlightens scripture in our spirits. It gives us victory in our life.

If you reject Gods answer, then you are rejecting God. This is called rebellion.

If I ask a question & get answers of scripture & the scripture verse, I love it. Because I know it takes time to find it & type it. But then, I love God and the Word of God. And for some, this is a verse that spoke volumes to them personally & they already have it memorized & where it is in the bible.
