Why is it that most everyone who survived the plane crash had done something fairly bad in their past?

I'm beginning to think, after last night, that we're seeing a giant science experiment (gone sometimes very wrong), and that the island is a research facility.

I wonder if that particular plane crashed because Jack was on it (so he could do the spinal surgery) and the other survivors just happened to be on that plane. Most everyone has something bad in their past.

That show kicks @$$, I was hooked within the first 5 minutes of watching it. Yeah, I can see what you're saying. There seems to be a connection with the survivors and murder. Maybe the black smoke thing is God, just screwing around with their heads to make a final decision.

i don't know what to think about lost anymore.if they keep stringing it on and onpeople are going to get sick of watching

ahhh you mean purgatory that could be.... I've never thought of it that way so maybe the island is giving them another chance.
