Kumquat.

It is a small citrus fruit that resembles an orange, but it is the size of a large grape or an average size cherry tomato.

It has a thin sweet fragrant skin and a sour center.

They can be eaten raw or in preserved in a variety of ways, but because they are so bitter, in the US they most commonly made into jelly or marmalade. so it is rare to see fresh kumquat fruits in the market.

Spelled correctly.
They are the smallest of citrus fruits, originally from China and have a sweet edible rind but a bitter flesh. Usually used in marmalade or preserved in brandy.(mmm that would be nice)

Yes its a small citris fruit that came to the U.S. during the St.Louis World Fair (1940). They are about the size of a grape and you can eat the skin. You can get them a Wal-Mart Supercenter, or a good sized Kroger. You can spell it either kumquat or cumquat.

A cross between a mandarin, a grape and a lemon.
They're the same kind of fruit as a mandarin; they have the peel and the pieces and they're orange,
They're as small as a grape-
And they taste like a lemon.
They rock.

kumquats - they're like very small oranges about the size of a quail egg or large grape. You generally eat the whole thing including the skin. The skin is actually sweeter than the meat itself which is kind of tart.

Supposedly to get the most flavor, you squeeze them a little to get the citrius oils to come out of the skin. It tasted the same to me.

I think the spelling is right. It is a fruit, look like a mini mini orange, tastes like tangerine. People use it to make jams, it is quite nice, if you like marmalade.
