If tithing time was what I decided to do for a church... at least part of my time donated would be that spent sitting on the toilot - and I'll happily donate 100% of the produce from the efforts as well.

(Any interested party may send me a self addressed, postage prepaid container suitable for safe ceiling and shipping... and I'll put your church on my chit list)

Holy crap aren't you taking this 10% crap just a bit far.

There is no evidence there even is a God and you want to slice and dice your life?

What will suffer as a result of your tithe of time?

A Job is at least 8 Hrs. With an 1/2 hour to 1 hour lunch which makes it 8 1/2 hrs - 9hrs GONE
Sleep is about 6 - 8 hrs
So far that is 14 1/2 hrs to17 hrs
Then there is time spent traveling to and from a job. Lest say 1 - 3 hrs.
That makes 15 1/2 hrs to 18 hrs.

Which if you subtract 2 1/2 hrs from the time left it leaves you only 3 1/2 hrs - 6 hrs for a wife, girlfriend, children, personal time.

What will suffer as a result of this lose of time?
I bet it will not be the internet time!
Which means family. Wife and kids!

This question may possibly be in answer to an answer I gave earlier this afternoon where I said if you do not have money, give of your time etc.

I don't think you have to say I will give ten percent of my time. What I am referring to is to spend time just being a good person to all those you meet and especially those that need your help the most. Sometimes, all someone needs is a caring friend or a ride to the store or a visit to the nursing home. Things like that can mean the world to someone who does not have it.

I know a lot of Christians feel that tithing is important but I don't agree with the church's view of what was intended. I think the idea behind it is that we give first to God, then take the remainder for ourselves. I doubt if God is willing to let your kids go hungry so some church can put in new carpeting etc.
