Don't you think it is high time we proved that Turkey will never be a country which is ruled by religion and that we,secularist ones, are more powerful than the Islamists reckon and we are bored with all that religious arguments used by our politicians?
Don't you think it is vital we join the great meeting in Ankara on 14th April.

Hey,Mustifie.
It pathetic of you that you can think democracy can prevail in a country where all institutions have been occupied by religious zealots and those who have the power are all former religious extremists.(I am sure you know the rumours about some of them involving in bribery)
Don't forget that there have been people who were killed and burnt to death(Madımak in Sivas) in this land just because they weren't pious like you,and not a single person because they were worshipping.
It is unbelievable that you think zealotry is compatible with democracy.

As a Turkish Cypriot I totally agree with you. We, in Cyprus, closely followed Ataturk's reforms and immediately put them into practice in our daily lives despite the pressures from the colonial British authorities. We have been living since then as modern, European Turks. The present government in Turkey does not like this. They have sent tens of thousands of people here from Turkey, most of whom have their women's hair covered. This is something that Turkish Cypriot women will never do.
It hurts me to see so many women in Turkey covering their heads. When I was at university in Ankara (67-72) there weren't any women like that. These people do not like Ataturk, who gave them the freedom to worship freely!
I support your struggle.

Where is our country going? That's the question,i have been asking for a very long time.they(you know who) are trying to make our mouth shut.I still can't understand how they become so strong in a very short time.Is it our fault??dunno. They use religion as a weapon and I admit that they used it really well. They put their men in very important department, tries to shut our mouth.Let me give you an example for what they had done before.you know this but i must remind this again 22 Temmuz 2004 there was a train crash in Pamukova/Turkey and unfortunately 41 people terribly died and things got weird after this. Two machinist are fired but interesting is this after few months past, they are hired again. Most of all the Head of the turkish railroad (TCDD) make a speech about this terrible event.he said this train crash happened because of God!!!Can you believe this.Machinists didn't obey the speed rules that's why 41 innocent peope died.
They are brainwashing. We should stop them.
WE SHOULD STAY UNITED.WE SHOULD PROTEST THEM.
Everyone in Turkey who has an oppurtunity to go to Ankara on 14th April, please go there please. Before it is too late.

Turkiye has the best system that we are not ruled by religion, but there are going to be people who would want to change this as Ataturk said...(dahili ve harici dusmanlar) As long as we are aware of that they really can't succeed for long..

As Turks we have to protect Ataturk's Turkiye and I feel proud to know that we will...

I will not be there as I am still in England but I know there will be a lot of Ataturk's people, hope it goes fine...

I agree with Morticia
