record fasts have lasted for as long as 43 days, of course the one fasting ended the fast by dieing.
fasting is no way to lose weight, your body will actually conserve fat and burn muscle if it thinks you are starving.
so you lose weight but it's the wrong kind of weight and you damage your body beyond repair. Accept the fact that you aren't going to lose the weight any faster than the rate at which you put it on to begin with. Eat a balanced low calorie diet exercise daily and be happy if you lose two pounds a week. Satisfied if you loose one, and content if you don't gain.

i've heard that you could go 2 days w/o drinking, & 2 weeks w/o eating. You might lose weight quickly depending on the person, but it's not healthy. I would not recommend it for a weight loss program.

Human beings can survive on body fat,for about a month,
Some may be able to sustain a little longer,but not by much.
Your organs will start to shut down,and its not a pretty picture.
Yes,you will lose weight quickly,its called "starvation"
First your bodyfat will dissipate,and then your body will eat muscle.
That explains the "gaunt" look.
Not a pretty picture!

Well yes they'd lose weight quickly because they are literally STARVING! Their body would be burning its own muscle to survive. That being said, I think I once heard the 3's rule...3 minutes without air, 3 days without water, and 30 days without food. Please don't starve yourself. If you want to lose weight there are MUCH better ways to accomplish that goal.

Probs 2 or 3 days and then their heart will stop and probably die. This is NOT a good and quick way of loosing weight it's so bad to starve your body and it slows your metabolism which means you don't burn calories as quick, of course they would loose a little weight but it would be seriously bad for their body, it's better to eat 5 small meals a day and exercise more, also if you don't eat you hardly have any energy. Please don't try loosing weight this way lol. xxx

I know it is a long time, I am thinking of the IRA when they used to go on hunger strike in Ireland I think they were into 90 days, but would have to check on the net.

a long time. i went on a fast for 3 days and i just drank water. i lost 6 pounds but i gained it back. i almost blacked out in the shower and it was hard the second day.

DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH FAT THE PERSON HAS TO LIVE OFF OF. OBVIOUSLY A SKINNY PERSON WOULDN'T LAST AS LONG AS A FAT PERSON. BUT I WOULD SAY AN AVERAGE PERSON WOULD LAST ABOUT A MONTH WITHOUT FOOD.
BUT LOOK OUT ONCE YOU GET EATING AGAIN. CAUSE YOU WILL PUT THE WEIGHT BACK ON 3 FOLD.

its the quickest method, to find how much weight you would lose in two weeks, take your weight divide it by one, then mulitiply it by 100%, good luck!
