I have been running for years, but only short distances a couple times a week. I stretch religiously, because I'm prone to shin splints, and my runners are relatively new. Lately, my hams have been seizing up during the day after my run. I try to stretch it out, but it's fairly persistent. Why is this suddenly happening?

I'm 25, but you could be right about the water. I usually opt for coffee when I come in the door from my run, and that's probably not a very good habit! Shame on me.
