I am using Vectorworks and I need to set up my page for 3/8" = 1'-0" scale. It is not an option so to manually set it up I would type in 1: ??? for the paper scale. For example 1/4" = 1'-0" would be 1:48 on the "paper scale". I forget how the math works. Thanks!

It is not 1:36 it is 1:32.

invert the ratio and multiply X 12 to get the scale factor.

8/3 x 12/1 = 8 x 4 = 32.

There are 32 x 3/8" in 1 foot, not 36.

1/4" = 1'-0" = 1:48 ratio
3/8" = 1'-0" = 1:36 ratio

1/4" to 3/8" = .75
48 x .75 = 36

or

# of 1/4" per 1'-0" = 48
# of 3/8" per 1'-0" = 36
