My kitten is also a 'flat cat', and although I will endeavour never to let her out, there is always the possibility of her escaping. She was spayed at 5 months, (I had planned at 6 - but she came into heat - surprise, surprise). Luckily this was for only 4 days, and just before Xmas got an appointment for the op. Less reason now for her to want to attempt to venture outside - I hope!

All Kittens Have To Be At Least 6 Months Old Before They Have Their 'Ladies Bits' Removed. Our Cat Was 6 Months Old When She Had Her Operation, Because We Couldn't Let Her Outside Untill She'd Been Spayed Or She Would Have Gotten Pregnant

Cat and dogs are generally spayed from 5 months of age (4 months in certain cases). Cats can have litters from 4 months of age, so yours is getting a little overdue. Yes I know she's not going to go outside - but it would be nice to do it before you and her have to go through the ickiness of her first heat - which could be any day now if it hasn't happened already! The longer it's left the more likely it is that it will affect her health.

Get it done now! They can be spayed as early as 4 months of age! I've seen lots of cats that will never go outside go into heat and escape out of a door that has been opened for only a second (and come home pregnant)!
Spaying your cat before the age of 2 decreases her chances for female cancers (ovarian and mammary) by over 60%.

Even so, it is 6 months old. My kitten was neutered at 6 mths, he is male and he has never ventured outside, but you can't say she will never go outside. You won't be best pleased if she gets pregnant.

About 2 months ago! Lol!
You can get her spayed now hun. Just take her right to the vet. Even though she's a house cat (good on you!) there's still a chance she could escape one day. It also improves their behaviour and helps to prevent diseases such as cancer.
My female cat escaped one day and thank god she was spayed - because as soon as she went outside, her milkshake brought all the boys to the yard... lol! ;-)
Good luck - she'll be fine and it's cheaply done

Most Veterinarians recommend that your spay your kitten at about 6 months of age. They can spay them while in heat but it is more of a serious surgery. Best to spay before coming into heat.

You can get her spayed now, it's safe to do by 6 months of age. You should have it done even if she never goes outside.

Before she goes into heat. From what I understand, cats have twice the chance of getting breast cancer as humans, and letting them go into heat increases this risk even more. If you plan no kittens, NOW!!!
