Cramps are hard to prevent because there is not one clear reason for them. However, the higher your endurance and the time after eating can help.
I've heard it said that 2-4 hours later is the best time, which I've found to be sound advice. If you run sooner than 2 1/2 hours, you can get cramps; if you run later than 4, you have less energy.

YOu got some good answers from those who suggest 2 or more hours after eating. Here's why: Digestion takes a lot of blood pumping to the stomach to digest the food. Running simply diverts that blood to the running muscles and leaves all that food laying around in your stomach. That never worked well for me.
And the few times I ran shortly after eating I had all sorts of discomfort. But getting cramps a lot suggests you might need to check your diet and vitamin intake, especially potassium. Be sure to stretch the abdominal muscles before running and belly-breathe in warmups.
Hope this helps. Good Luck

The rule of thumb is to wait 2 hours after a snack or light meal and 3-4 hours for a big meal. Having food in your stomach while exercising will make you feel uncomfortable, especially if you are running. It also makes it harder for your body to digest. Hope this helps.

It depend on how much food are you eattings!
If you eat a lot , I am a lot a lot like you can't even eat no more food, if you eat some more you will be throw up then you probably need to wait about 2 hours or more!
If you eatting the food that is easy to destroy and a little only then you just need about 30-45 minutes.
if you eat just enough then it will be an hours or more!

Just like you always hear for swimming, wait thirty minutes. It goes for any physical activity. It just allows enough time for the digestion process to begin. By waiting you lessen the probability that you'll get bad cramps.

I think it is like the swimming rule (~30min) but people don't stress it because you won't drown.
