If you can find me the population of the united states in the same period of time that would be helpful...thx

At the US Census Bureau web site. It took some digging, but I found it.
New Mexico:
195,310 in 1900
1,515,069 in 1990
United States:
76,212,168 in 1900
248,709,873 in 1990
