My gf tends to categorize me as a 'beautiful man', 'pretty boy', and also someone with a boyish appearance.

Sometimes I can't help but wonder why she keeps on saying that!

Can someone help me with all the above terminologies? What does she mean and besides, I'm in my mid 20's. Also, I get this a lot from other girls too.

Help ladies!

GAY...you look like a gay man. "pretty boy" doesn't mean you ARE you just look it...I was married to one. Never again...

it sounds like it just means you're cute. Like I would call a pretty boy/beautiful man a guy who's pretty/cute. I mean he has pretty/nice eyes and a pretty smile. I know what it is but it's hard to say it without it sounding bad. some guys have this boyish charm where they are really cute/pretty and they act kinda boyish. I mean where they have this kind of innocence about them where even if they get on your nerves, you can't help but smile because he makes it seem like he's innocent and didn't know what he was saying. I guess you could call it charm in a way. A lot of times it also means someone who is kind of preppy in appearance, like delicate in facial features but still a man.

It means you look more like a boy than a man. It's not a bad thing. Models are pretty boys.

Marlborough man, Manly
Robert Redford, Manly
George Clooney, Manly

Patrick Dempsey, Crossover, Manly, but still a pretty boy
All men from Greys Anatomy, Manly, but still pretty

Brad Pitt, Pretty boy (even though he tries to hide it)
Johnny Depp, Pretty boy (again, trying to hide it)

I'm a guy, but maybe I can sort this out for you. Think of Tom Cruise in Top Gun and Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic, and compare them with Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon and Kevin Costner. Women find all of them attractive, but Tom and Leo are pretty boys. I don't know what they call Mel and Kevin (handsome?) but they aren't pretty--but women still think they are physically hot. Does that clear it up at all?

It's like the way a guy would find two women attractive, and say that one is cute and one is glamourous. Although I'll bet the women hate being called cute and would much prefer to be glamourous, a lot of men prefer cute. So, you may not want to be a girly-looking pretty boy, but it's who you are and women love it, so own it!

They all mean the same thing as "cute". This is okay from the woman's point of view but guys always feel insulted. They want to be "handsome" or "manly" looking.

You can always try a beard or mustache or one of those half-grown-in beards (like the guy on the show "House" has - although his doesn't do much for him!). It might make you look more "manly".

Note: I think "cute" lasts longer as you get older than "handsome" does. You will always get more girls.

there is a difference between handsome and beautiful. one has a feminine quality and one has a masculine. now there are handsome women. this doesnt mean that they are manly, but it means that they posses attractive features that dont classicly fit into the ideal woman.

her calling you pretty or beautiful is a compliment! it means that perhaps she loves your delicate jawline or your silkly hair, maybe you have lovely eyelashes.
i swear it isnt an insult. men who are usually beautiful are tall and very lean/willowly. think Orlando Bloom in Lord of the Rings. beautiful. :)

Normally, this means that you are a clean cut man. You can't go out looking scruffy...always have to a show stopper. It's nothing wrong with that until it become "metrosexual", like eyebrow arching, manicure and pedicures every week, and reading girlie magazine to help your skin...it is then you should be worried!

It means your a mans man type. She also does not see you as a fighter or a provider. So if you want a serious relationship with her you need to buck up. Start taking charge or she will never take you seriously. If you keep your ways I foresee bad things in your future.

I consider Tom Welling a pretty boy, so I would consider that a good compliment.
