"Finders keepers, losers weepers." If you can't even hang onto your cash, how will you make it through life? People should mind their own business and not expect anyone to help them or harm them, and if you leave your stuff laying around then it just stops being your stuff and is up for grabs.

A lot of people don't seem to realize the double standard they try to hold. Finding a wallet on the street is no different than going to a garage sale and buying a million dollar Picasso for $10 from an ignorant rube. Either way you're taking advantage of some fool's neglect or mistake. And for some reason the cops can't make you return the Picasso, but they can arrest you for picking up that wallet.

Depends where it was found. If there is no obvious place (i.e hotel, office building, etc) then I would just keep it. If for instance it was at a hotel or the like, I would mention it to the hotel manager that I found a sum of money and would be interested in knowing if anyone had been looking for it. I would not mention how much, where it was found, or any clues to the discovery. I would definitely not leave the money with anyone. If someone comes forward and convinces me it is theirs, good. Otherwise, I keep the money.

If I found an envelope of money in a store, I would turn it in at the Customer Service desk...It just might be someones life savings.
If I found it on the street, I would turn it in to the police, same reason.
In fact. I did find $30.00 on the floor where I worked, years ago.
I turned it in at the main office and after a month when no one came looking for it, they gave it to me.
You never know when it might be someones last dollar (so to speak) so I would hope that if I lost money, someone would turn it in where I could find it.

Depends where I found it, as I found a big enve-
lope of money on a desk-top where I worked and
I turned it in come to find out it was 10000dlrs that
was supposed to be deposited into the bank by
someone, and needless to say the person was
fired, but if I found it in the streets then common
sence would tell me that it was for me because
in the streets it's called survival.

ABSOLUTELY. The reason why is because it would be dishonest, rude, unkind, and selfish not to. You have to put yourself in the person's (who lost the money) shoes. How would you feel if you lost a bunch of money and no one turned it in? Even if it is only $1, the right thing to do is turn it in. And if you are asking that because you really did find an envelope full of money, please, don't be slow to turn it in :D

Yes I would. Because the person who lost it might really need that money for something important, I know if I lost a lot of money I would be really upset because that would probably mean lots of important bills would go unpaid so I would hope someone would do the same for me.

it depends--if it were under $50.00 probably not but if it was over $50.00 yes! the reason is because if i were the one who lost it i would hope that whoever found it would turn it in. even though i need it really bad i would not feel right if i didn't try to find the owner. it is the right thing to do.

if i saw who dropped it, then i would give it to him/her.

but if no one was around, i would keep it, because if i gave it to the authorities, they would probably keep it for themselves because there would be no way to find out who the money belonged to...unless the envelope had a name and adress.

in that case i would give it to the authorities.
