I'd go with cream. Otherwise, that room is going to be awfully dark

How about going with a different colour all together for the drapes? Too much brown or cream and the room will be boring.
Do you have an accent colour you like and will look nice with both colours (cream & brown)? I like the idea of red for a nice pop of colour in the room. OR orange, something bright and that will be a focal point in the room...
Good luck!

Draperies with cream background with a brown pattern in them would look good. Brown curtains up against brown walls would be too bland.

Neither. You'll really be glad you add some accent color to these neutrals. Do you have carpet? Pick a color or two from that. A bright color or anything in the blue spectrum will give a contemporary feeling. Something in the green spectrum would offer a more "natural" feeling. A pale rose or peach would soften up the room. Have fun!

Cream, otherwise the room is going to be awfully dark. It would be like sitting in a cave.

A very light shade of green would be nice and add a touch of " nature " to brighten up the place especially if the window is small. A nice pale yellow color would be nice too. That's what I would choose.
Good luck and enjoy your initiative.

Cream or another warm tone pastel, PLEASE!!
You may want to consider another warm tone; NO blues/grays, etc...go to a paint or fabric store and look into yellows/corals/peach, etc..those kinds of shades.. Your room will end up looking too monochromatic if you don't break it up with a different, warm tone pastel, and you will get tired of it awfully fast!!

I would go with cream drapes, you don*t want brown on brown., it would look as though your drapes disappeared into the wall.
