Given that the universe is by definition infinite in time and space, and that therefore anything that can happen does eventually happen an infinite number of times in an infinite number of places, yes. But we might not recognize all of it as life, and some of it might exist in dimensions we can't perceive.

I'm not so sure any more.

The abiogenesis issue has me a bit discomforted.

From the Rare Earth Hypothesis. It could be the chance of life coming to existance is like winning a mega lottery, and we happen to hit the jackpot and no one else in the universe has.

I'm sure there are habitable planets out there, but they could all be devoid of life.

I'll feel a lot better if we find life on mars. Or maybe there is no other life in the universe is good, that means we won't be enslaved or exterminated by alien species, or vice versa.

Yes: there are to many plants and suns out there for this to be the only plant supporting life. Besides man has goofed so much up may be GOD is trying over some place else.

The universe is too huge *not* to have life anywhere else.

(But that still doesn't mean the earth was ever visited by any aliens)
