GAWD...cleaning up after a kid's poop is nasty, I don't see how people can clean up their dog's crap. This is just not normal.
No thanks, no dogs for me!
But to answer the question...maybe you could have dug up some dirt and threw it over it.

You should not allow your dog to walk on somebody's private property in the first place (you do keep it under control with a leash, right?). Otherwise, if the poo is really runny, I guess there is no practical way to pick it up. Just in case somebody is watching, bend down with your pooper-scooper or plastic bag and pretend to pick it up, and keep on walking. Next time, feed your dog dry food and not so much of the canned stuff.

You are ALWAYS responsible for your animal companions. When you take your dog for a walk you should always bring something to clean it up with, to throw it away in your own garbage, not leave it for someone else. You should have had something with you to clean it up.
However, having said that, I probably would have made more of a mess by puking over it.

As gross as it is, it would probably be best to try to clean and scoop it up, possibly with a piece of bark or cardboard, and then throw dirt over the rest. Not much else you can do, but you gave it a good attempt!

You do the best you can at cleaning it up with plastic bag. Anyone says anything, say you did the best you could.

Can't predetermine when any animal (or human) has a tummy problem.

Happens with dogglets, don't worry so much.

tough situation...
if u can control where ur dog went aim for a more public place like a remote spot or by a mailbox
if it already happened either explain to the home owner or have notes ready to slip into a mail box appoligizing & explaining, or bring oatmeal/kitty litter or anythign that will bring some consistence to it and have bags to scoop

It happens. If it's runny, it will soak into the ground. Don't worry about it. (Of course, when at all possible, always clean up after your pets, people!)

Scooped it up! And next time don't let your dog do it's business on their yard. It is rude and unsanitary. How do you know their children don't run barefoot in the yard? Yuck!

you should always carry plastic bags with you so you can clean it up and not get dirty. just turn it inside out, and pick it up, tie it and your done.
