It is illegal to even have an american bald eagle feather let alone to kill one. The American Bald Eagle is begining to make a comeback thanks to the laws (endangered species act ) that already set in place. Fines are up to $25,000 for civil and up to $50,000 plus one year jail for crimimal charges.

What a moron. If the guy shot the bird, then he deserves to go to prison. You shouldn't kill endangered species unless you are being directly physically threatened (in other words, only if it's trying to kill you).
