Before you ask this question, do you know WHY the Church does not ordain women?

I would not make an issue of something you don't understand.

There is a very good reason for it. Jesus Christ was a priest and a man. All of the Old Testament priests were men. This is the way God ordered it to be. The Church did not make up the rule. God did.

Women have been respected in the Church since the beginning. The Virgin Mary is the holiest and most glorious of all saints. Women contribute amazing things to the Church. Some have been named "Doctors of the Church" for their profound spiritual insights.

Notice that all the people giving answers don't have any good reasons. Nor can they show how the Church doesn't treat women with dignity. They are simply being hostile because they don't like how Jesus Christ arranged things.

This is like me asking "isn't it about time that men should be able to get pregnant?" The question is irrelevant and inflamatory.

Tradition, tradition, tradition, that's why... Or so I thought. I was talking to friend of mine who's Catholic about this not too long ago. She pointed out that the Catholic Church has changed it's traditional position on some things, like blaming the Jews for the death of Jesus. I thought that because of the priest shortage the man only priest thing was going to change, but she wasn't sure that was going to happen.

The last two popes have been ultra-conservatives, so until more moderate voices are in the power structure, I don't see this changing any time soon. I agree. The whole thing is stupid in this day and age.

The Catholic Church does see Women and Men as equals.

But there is no mistaking that Men and Women are different,,,,Men cannot have kids.

That does not mean that Women and men are not equal.

But I as a Catholic would have no problem with Women Priests or married Priests, but that is not my decision to make, and not nearly enough to make me leave my faith.

After all, most devout Catholics are Women.

Peace and God Bless!

Do you know why the church is called Catholic? Because it comes from the greek word καθολικός which means universal. A religion for everyone...
Problems is so much corruption thru the ages- I mean please, pay money to gain pentence for you loved ones in pergatory- and where in the bible does it mention that?
Why worry about women in the chruch- most women are smart enough to see that isn't what Jesus's teachings meant in the first place!
Peace!

In only having men priests we are following the example of Christ Himself. He chose only men as His Apostles. If He had chosen women we would follow that example and ordain women as priests.

God bless,

Think of it like the military rank system. As an enlisted member, I am under the authority of military officers. The officers are not better than me, they are simply placed in a position of authority.

Many Christian churches and homes operate similarly. The man and the woman are equals; they simply serve in different roles with the man having higher authority.

uhh!im a catholic but im not so happy with the catholic church, the reason only men can be preists is because back in jesus time men were seen as better and all jesus' apostles are men, but you would think after the church has taught that everyone is equal and society sees women equal too, that we could change that rule, but obviously once again the church just counter teaches itself-- ps women CAN speak in catholic churches.

I don't get why not, either. But the Catholic church moves at a glacial pace, and a lot of its adherents like it that way.

In Buddhism they can. I know as many, if not more, women priests than men.

Hahahahahhahahahahaha! (wiping a tear) Oh that was a good one... um... or are you being serious?

Hon, women have been harping on this since long before you were a sparkle in your daddy's eye... and they haven't come around yet. Such a concept treads on male authority's collective toes and they will not have any of that... now hush, cover your head like a good little woman and go pray in the corner.
