Cain was jealous because God preferred Abel's offering over his. God did accept Cain's offering but he preferred Abel's. Cain seemed to just have a bad attitude about all of it.

It is apparent that God, who can see into a person's heart, judged that Cain's offering was not given out of a proper motivation of love and reverence, whereas Abel's was. Subsequent events (the murder of his brother) revealed a jealous and hateful spirit within Cain. God even tried to warn Cain directly about the consequences of nurturing the spite and jealousy within Cain's heart, saying, "Sin is crouching at the entrance for you, and will you, for your part gain the mastery over it?" This was a strong object lesson showing that each of us has the ability to choose our own course in life, and decide what actions we will take, based on which of our inner thoughts we nurture and feed.
Do we feed love and selflessness or spite, hatred, jealousy and selfishness. Each of us has the potential to be a Cain, or an Abel.

Backwards. It was Abel's sheep that was accepted and Cain's vegetables that didn't make the cut. The choice reflects an ancient nomadic bias against citified farming types, with their boundary-setting ways. If you read on, you'll discover that Cain was credited with inventing cities, which herders always regarded as evil, godless places. The Hebrews felt that cities were a little too self-sufficient and arrogant and failed to sufficiently rely on God. (See also "Tower of Babel")

Cain was jealous of his brother's offering . Cain's offering was from the result of the work his hands from his garden .I don't think Cain took the offering too serious.Abel's offering was the fat and blood of the lamb , which covered their sin.

Genesis 4:7 If you TURN to doing good, will there not be an exhalation?

So, Cain offered his sacrifice with bad deeds, as we can see because God counseled him to TURN to do good. Cain did not listen, and was jealous and kept doing bad.

Cain killed his brother because he was jealous. God gave approval to his brother, but not him. Cain's heart wasn't in it and he just gave it because he was supposed too, not because he wanted too.

that's a strong question and ought to guide on to placing out up of a can of worms being so arguable. i have heard maximum of my existence it really is became because Abel provided a blood sacrifice. without the shedding of blood there is not any remission of sin. Cain sacrifice wasn't common because if became the the floor that were cursed. at the same time as those fact are real i have self belief that's plenty better than that. you're perfect that on the on the spot mankind wasn't allowed to eat meat. they did not eat meat until eventually after the flood. i have self belief it became the body of ideas in which Cain gave his sacrifice became the reason for it being rejected. sure Abel gave his maximum proper and that i have self belief he provided a wiling sacrifice. no longer only became it the most proper it became the his first fruit. It became positioned aside and committed only for worship. in spite of the indisputable fact that, on the different hand Cain only provided a sacrifice as if it were a duty. God loves a satisfied giver. God requested Cain a query. Genesis 4:7 If thou doest nicely, shalt thou no longer be common? and if thou doest no longer nicely, sin lieth on the door. And unto thee will be his favor, and thou shalt rule over him.
