Sometimes when a unit is deployed then area places will give free stuff to wives. One place where we were at gave free haircuts, manicures, pedicures and discounted massages. You just have to look around your town for this stuff though sometimes they let the FRG know and they usually pass the info on to the wives.

Good lord people are so cruel!
I am married to a guy in the Navy. I most def. didn't marry him for benefits or money and I am sure you didn't either. I mean come on they don't make that much. However the benefit aren't begging for free stuff it is more like a huge part of the pay. Everyone knows the military has good benifits. Geez. Anyway I wouldn't listen to those people. Now to answer your question. Being a military wife you guys will get housing and dependant pay. When he goes out you should get seperation pay. Alot of places give military discounts and you can use your ID there. Also check out
www.militarywives.com , they even have an online store for military wives. You have all access to the commisaries and military exchange stores. You get health care without copay and alot of other perks. Your husband should soon learn who his ombusmand is. These are wifes of the high ranked men. They will help you with anything you have questions about. Enjoy being a military wive while it lasts

Yeah, housing, food, medical, commissary and exchange privileges and general upkeep on your husbands back.
Why do you think you warrant anything free just for being a military wife.? I'm active duty and my husband is active duty, but if I wasn't I wouldn't be running around asking for free stuff. Did you marry your husband for the free ride like a ton of military wives do? I hope not, but this kind of thing drives active duty people crazy. Just love your husband and stop looking for free handouts just because you said I DO with a military man.

our status as military spouses doesn't mean we deserve anything at all, just like being the spouse of a firefighter or police officer entiles one to anything special.
you can ask for discounts or freebies, but NOONE is under any obligation whatsover to give one.

Not that I know of. Do you mean things like makeup, toiletries, gift cards,....? I know that some stores will give military discounts, but you will usually have to ask if they do. Not all businesses advertise that they do.
