So financially ahead, yet they ignore the poor and destitute people, right in their own cities. Some of these people are fellow Christians, don't you think they should at least help their own?

I'm not asking the rich or the famous...I'm asking the greedy Christians who do not really help others, yet still proclaim to be God-fearing. Even Jesus fed thousands of people, it may have been a miracle, but he gave what he had!

Some "Christians" enjoy their huge blessings and forget to spread it around. Some only share the wealth during holidays. I am a Christian. I have had some very hard times, and still having them. I have been in the midst of so-called "Christians" and have been ripped apart and kicked when I was down by them. Some Christians just don't think there are any repercussions to the wrong they do. They think if they attend church one day a week and make a donation once a year, that it covers all the sin they commit through out the year.

Like anything else, there are good and bad Christians. These Christians think they are safe, but they may get a big surprise on Judgment Day.

If you are a true Christian, you should never stop helping, aiding, praying or giving of yourself just because you make a large single donation or one act of kindness. It's is not enough. You must continue, every day, in every way to continue Jesus' good works and acts of charity.

God bless us all, especially those who are in the most need.

Jesus said the when you give to the poor, don't even let your left hand know what you are doing. You should not assume that rich Christians don't give because they don't make a big song and dance about it. There is nothing wrong with having money, it's what you do with it that counts. Staying financially ahead allows some people to keep on giving.

Just because they walk the walk and talk the talk does not mean they are true to what they want others to perceive they believe. There are many reasons people claim to be "Christian" and not all of them are sincere.

Keep in mind though, that a lot of Christians are not rich but are among the poor and destitute themselves.

As far as what Christians should do, I think they should put their faith into action and help all who are in need. Unfortunately what I think is worth the paper its written on, lol.

I agree with you there, they should be involved more in the aiding of the poor and not so well off peoples. The reason why there are so many of them though is simple: they're called hypocrites. Now, before I go on, I should say that I are a hypocrite myself. That being said, I don't have **** loads of money, so my not so much supporting the poor is because I am sort of poor in those regards. Hypocrites abound in all of Christianity, and should be ashamed of their hypocritical ways, as I am most of the time when I do realize what I am doing wrong. These people are hypocrites, and should be ashamed of their hypocritical actions.

You can't put all christians in a box and assume that we are all like that. When we give our tithes and offerings in church most of that money goes into the community, maybe you need to find another church that helps the community. Don't judge people based on their religion, God help those who help themselves. Here is a question why are you not asking the rich people that same question. People are always looking for a free ride instead of helping yourself, or you make that step in helping other people.

Well they should, of course, and Jesus told them on several occasions to do just that. Yet they prefer to think they are saved and going to heaven based on belief alone.

Apparently all of Jesus instructions about feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, and rich men's chances to get to Heaven was just a lot of "well you really don't have to do any of this I just like hearing myself talk".

They are financially ahead because God provides them with grace, however, you cannot say that they don't help people out because they do. Some contribute to the church which in turn hands it out to the different types of organizations. If I was you I wouldn't worry about what others are doing with their finances but instead make sure to contribute or distribute help to those in need.

That is one of the tenets of Christianity... so yes.
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
- James 1:27

Have you ever heard of the Salvation Army? Habitat for Humanity? Many homeless shelters and low-cost hospitals were started by Christians. Why do you ignore their contributions?

We should help our own. God blesses us financially, as long as we are willing to give Him the ten percent He requires of us. What others fail to realize is, we may be Christians, and we may be the saints of God, but we are still sinners like everyone else. We're still human. We have no claim to perfection. We strive to be like Jesus, some of us strive more than others.

I would have to argue that if they are well off and yet refuse to help they are not truly Christians. Of course their idea of helping might differ from others too.
